The House passed a “gun safety” bill on Thursday, which isn’t remarkable given the chamber is dominated by democrats, but one surprise is that 8 Republicans joined in this assault on our Constitutional rights. Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger was one of the Republican traitors adding to his shameful list of times he has sided against his own party and constituents.

The House on Thursday approved two pieces of legislation aimed at strengthening background checks on firearm sales and transfers, a leading priority for Democratic lawmakers.
The Bipartisan Background Checks Act — spearheaded by Rep. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.) — looks to “utilize the current background checks process” in an attempt to ensure individuals prohibited from possessing a gun are unable to obtain one.
The legislation would implement new background check requirements for gun transfers between private parties.
Under current law, unlicensed and private sellers are not required to conduct background checks for gun transfers despite licensed firearm dealers being required to do so.
The bill passed by a 227-203 vote with eight Republicans backing the measure and one Democrat, Rep. Jared Golden (Maine), bucking his party to vote against it.

Why does Kinzinger’s name keep showing on lists of Republicans who sided with the democrats? Kinzinger was 1 0f 11 Republicans who voted to strip Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments and 1 of 10 Republicans who voted to impeach President Trump.
Fred Upton, Chris Smith, Brian Fitzpatrick, Maria Salazar, Carlos Giménez also voted to strip Greene of her committee assignments and Upton joined Kinzinger to impeach Trump. Since all of these votes have taken place in the past month and a half, these RINOs have voted with the democrats more than than their own party this year.
As for the gun control bill, Steny Hoyer, who has the guts to call himself a democrat, had this lie to offer:
“We shouldn’t need a pandemic to reduce gun violence in this country. The way to do that ought to be through passing commonsense gun safety legislation through Congress to make it harder for deadly firearms to get into the hands of those who cannot bear them responsibly,” said Hoyer.
Since 99.9% of crimes committed with guns are perpetrated by scumbags who obtained their firearms illegally, this bill won’t do shit to reduce “gun violence.” It will make it illegal for people to lend their guns to a friend or family member however, so there’s that.
And as Steve Scalise, an actual Republican, pointed out this is a democrat bill through and through:

That’s just brilliant: If an illegal alien tries to buy a gun, there are no consequences, but if someone lends a piece to a friend for protection or recreation, it’s a felony with a permanent loss of gun ownership rights.
Here’s another to consider: imagine you at the range with some friends and your buddy wants to take a couple of shots with your new modern sporting rifle. That’s a firearms transfer as defined by this bullshit law and therefor illegal. You’re completely f*cked.
The people of Adam Kinzinger’s district, who put him into office, thought they had voted for a Republican, but his constant siding with the democrats shows they were mistaken. The democrats don’t even need to worry about losing control of the House in the 2022 midterms as long as there’s enough RINOs like Kinzinger and the 7 other traitors who voted for this gun control bill around.
