Biden Regime Orders DHS To Withhold Information From The Press On Border Catastrophe

Whatever promises that were made by Joe Biden that his administration would set new standards for transparency have already been broken.

Just six weeks into his term, Biden has not held a real press conference, shattering a 100-year-old record for new presidents, hasn’t given the annual State Of The Union address, and has now ordered the withholding of information from reporters on the border crisis.

According to a report by Breitbart News citing an official “with knowledge of the restrictions,” the Department Of Homeland Security has issued “verbal orders” forbidding senior DHS law enforcement officials to give any information to the press on the situation.

Biden’s open borders policies have resulted in the swarming of the border, overwhelming the ability of agents to process the flood of illegal immigrants and resulting in the caging of children, a practice that also took place when he was Barack Obama’s vice president.

Via Breitbart, “Biden Admin Restricts Senior DHS Officials from Sharing Border Crisis Info with Reporters”:

The official with knowledge of the restrictions spoke under the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak on the matter. “The situation with media relations now is night and day compared to the last administration, The official said. “We have been advised not to speak on immigration issues at the border and to rely on DHS’s Office of Public Affairs and the Whitehouse Press Office to handle messaging.”

The verbal order applies to senior law enforcement leaders within DHS and has no formal expiration date. It comes as the administration is struggling to manage the growing crisis caused by changes in border security and immigration policies leading to a spike in illegal crossings at the border.

As local communities along the border continue to grapple with the release of migrants into their communities, the administration is facing criticism even amongst their own ranks, Breitbart reported.

U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar (D-TX) said in a recent interview on the Fox News Channel, “I can tell you this, those numbers of people that are being released, they’re purposely withholding that information.”

Even though Biden’s immigration policies are already an unmitigated catastrophe, little attention has been given to the fact that aliens who have tested positive for COVID have been allowed to continue their journey northward undeterred.

Things are so bad that the CEO of Greyhound sent a letter to the Biden administration pleading for illegals to produce a negative COVID test before being allowed to board the company’s buses.

Via Fox Business, “Greyhound CEO tells Biden’s DHS chief that migrants must be COVID-free before boarding buses”:

The president CEO of Greyhound has written to the head of the Department of Homeland Security, calling for the agency to provide proof that any undocumented asylum-seekers boarding its buses after release from DHS be COVID-free.

“Our top priority is the safety of our employees and passengers,” Greyhound’s David Leach wrote in a letter sent Wednesday to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

A Greyhound spokesperson confirmed the letter was sent to the agency and that the company “requested its assistance with the potential surge of migrants at the border.”

The letter came during the same week that more than 100 migrants tested positive for the virus at a Brownsville, Texas, bus station as they prepared to board buses to northern U.S. destinations, according to Border Report.

It should be a major scandal that at the same time that the Biden administration is engaged in a pressure campaign to keep the country masked and under punishing restrictions, that they are risking the renewed spread of the virus by refusing to quarantine the migrants who are testing positive.

While the fawning media that served as Biden’s unofficial public relations team during the campaign hasn’t shown any inclination to ask the right questions yet, their patience may soon be wearing thin with the tight controls on information put into place by the regime.
