Remember when the liberal media ignored NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s nursing home scandal, fawned over his leadership abilities, and gave him awards for kicking COVID-19’s ass? In the mutha of all “blame Trump” excuses, MSNBC says it’s not their fault because former President Donald Trump made them do it. If Trump had any actual power over the liberal media, he probably would have forced them to stop reporting fake news, but liberal media narratives are rarely based on fact.
In looking for a way to explain how they could have been so supportive of a granny-killer and sexual assault fiend like Cuomo, MSNBC came up with this:

But there is a simple explanation for our naiveté. In a world filled with a seemingly endless supply of bad guys, we’ve become starved for good guys. After four consecutive years of a cartoonish representation of the worst definition of masculinity courtesy of the 45th president, any elected official who wasn’t bribing mistresses and misspelling his own wife’s name felt like a pretty decent guy.
It feels important to emphasize the extent to which Trump helped fuel the overfetishization of Cuomo.
It feels more important to emphasize that the liberal media is full of shit.
It wasn’t America who fell for Cuomo’s “good guy” performance, it was the liberal media. Even that is dishonest as it was the liberal media who sold the lie that Cuomo was a good guy to the American public. They certainly couldn’t have believed that lie themselves, which makes it even more dispicable that they tried to cover up his inherent awfulness.
Making this piece of shit excuse stink even worse is that MSNBC doesn’t even mention that Cuomo killed thousands of elderly people by ordering COVID-19 patients into nursing homes. This is all about Cuomo being a pervert and sexual predator. The liberal media still has no bullshit excuse for ignoring the real scandal with this asshole. And really, that’s the issue here: the liberal media knew Cuomo was a granny-killer since last Spring and refused to acknowledge it, while praising his bold leadership during the pandemic.
Come to think of it, the liberal media knew Cuomo was a pervert as well. There have been rumors of his sexual impropriety for years. Also, the guy has never not been a jackass. He is and has always been a pompous blow-hard asshole. The only people who are shocked by the allegations of sexual harassment and assault against him are the “journalists” who helped him cover this stuff up so the shock is completely disingenuous.
Which brings us to how this is the fakest of fake news. The MSNBC excuse is that Trump was such a bad guy that they viewed Andrew Cuomo as the anti-Trump or a really good guy, but everything negative about Trump was made up entirely by these same liberal media dipshits. What they’re really saying is, because we made up stuff about Trump, we pretended not to notice the things about Cuomo we were covering up.
The liberal takes no responsibility for the fake news they put out, so why should they take the blame when they cover up real news?
