NBC Busted Airing Deceptively Edited Video To Attack AG Bill Barr

When raw unedited video shows Planned Parenthood bragging about chopping up aborted babies and selling their body parts, the liberal media cries that it was “deceptively edited” footage. When raw unedited video shows Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar dismissing the 9/11 attacks as “some people did something” the liberal media whines it’s “deceptively edited” footage and a racist hate crime. When the liberal media airs deceptively edited video to attack the Trump administration, they call it real news. NBC was busted airing deceptively edited video to make Attorney General Bill Barr look bad and didn’t even offer an apology.

The big liberal media freak-out this week was that the Department of Justice dropped charges against Michael Flynn. They weren’t upset that Obama’s FBI set him up but rather that Trump’s DoJ had the nerve to exonerate an innocent man.

On Meet the Press Sunday, “Sleepy Eyes” Chuck Todd was talking to Never-Trumper Peggy Noonan about AG Barr dropping the Flynn case.

“You brought up Bill Barr. Peggy Noonan, I want you to listen to this Bill Barr answer to a question about what history will say about this. Wait until you hear this answer. Take a listen,” said Todd.

Todd then played a clip of an interview Barr did with CBS.

“When history looks back on this decision, how do you think it will be written?” the interviewer asked.

“Well, history is written by the winner. So it largely depends on who’s writing the history,” said Barr in the shortened clip.

After playing the clip, Todd came back with this:

“I was struck, Peggy, by the cynicism of the answer. It’s a correct answer. But he’s the attorney general. He didn’t make the case that he was upholding the rule of law. He was almost admitting that, yeah, this is a political job,” Todd said.

What Todd was claiming, after showing this edited clip, was that Bill Barr said nothing of the rule of law and was claiming that he, as “history’s winner,” gets to decide how people will remember his decision to drop the Flynn case.

Now here’s what was actually said in the full clip:

“In closing, this was a big decision in the Flynn case, to — to say the least. When history looks back on this decision, how do you think it will be written? What will it say about your decision making?” asked the interviewer.

“Well, history is written by the winner. So it largely depends on who’s writing the history. But I think a fair history would say that it was a good decision because it upheld the rule of law. It helped, it upheld the standards of the Department of Justice and it undid what was an injustice,” Barr responded.

Hey, look at that. Barr did mention the rule of law and was trying to make a point that he doesn’t control how people will perceive him in the future. This was a complete lie on Chuck Todd’s part.

Kerri Kupec, director of communications and public affairs for the Department of Justice, called out Todd and NBC for this serious piece of fake news:

To which NBC issued a half-assed apology:

Actually, that’s a no-assed apology. There is no apology to Bill Barr and there isn’t even an attempt to take responsibility. Apparently Chuck Todd doesn’t just have sleepy eyes, he also has sleepy journalism skills because he can’t be bothered to watch the full 15 seconds of the clip.

With no real apology or an admission of culpability, President Trump had a better suggestion on how NBC should deal with this:

Notice how Trump tagged the Federal Communications Commission and its chairman, Ajit Pai? That was a nice touch.

NBC, like all liberal media outlets, complains when Trump calls them “fake news.” That these complaints come when the President is pointing out verifiable fake news that they have broadcast makes the bitching fake news, which is some next-gen bullshit.
