A black criminal was shot in Minnesota on Sunday while resisting arrest on a gun crime warrant. A police officer mistook her gun for a Tazer and it was all just a tragic accident, not a racially motivated killing, but that hasn’t stopped black from “looting for justice.” The facts also haven’t stopped lunatics like Rashida Tlaib demanding and end to policing. Barack Obama however is more nuanced in his bullshit so he says we have to “reimagine policing.”
20-year-old Duante Wright was pulled over for a having expired tags in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota on Sunday. When police discovered he had an outstanding warrant for a gun crime, they tried to arrest him. He resisted and tried to escape. A female officer thought she was deploying her Taser but was actually holding her gun and shot Wright to death.
Obama, still bloviating in his mom jeans, had this to say about it:
Our hearts are heavy over yet another shooting of a Black man, Daunte Wright, at the hands of police. It’s important to conduct a full and transparent investigation, but this is also a reminder of just how badly we need to reimagine policing and public safety in this country. pic.twitter.com/sgcbRjlApr

What the hell does “reimagine policing” even mean? Should we imagine cops as pixies riding on unicorns with rainbows shooting out of their asses? Does that get the job done?
Obama included a link to his foundation’s website to a page called “Anguish and Action.” I was hoping it would shed some light on what Obama means about reimagining policing, but he really just wants you to give him some money:
Hasn’t Obama already gotten enough money for doing absolutely nothing? Why does he need more?
We work to help leaders change their world—and the world needs changing. The killings of Daunte Wright, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the loss of far too many Black lives to list, have left our nation anguished and outraged. While now is a time for grief and anger, it is also a time for resolve.
Oh, so it’s resolve that we need to reimagine policing? That clears up nothing and neither does this:
Over 1,000 people are killed by police every year in America, and Black people are three times more likely to be killed than White people. We can take steps and make reforms to combat police violence and systemic racism within law enforcement.
Are black people also three times more likely to threaten a police officer with a weapon? Because if that’s the case, it would explain why they are three times more likely to be killed by police. Also, of those 1,000 people killed by police every year, most of them are white and 99.99% are justified uses of lethal force. Those are some other statistics Obama left out.
In Obama’s statement he said it was long over due that we reimagine policing, but conveniently forgot that he was President of the United States for 8 years. The president is the top of the executive branch, which is responsible for enforcing the law. Why didn’t he use this position to reimagine policing when he had the opportunity?
The answer to that question is quite simple: Obama is full of shit. Reimagining policing means nothing. It’s just a thing he’s saying to seem smart and compassionate.
