Not all police killings are treated equal. The country has been in a constant state of unrest for almost a year after George Floyd, a black man, died resisting arrest. Minnesota has erupted in riots and looting because Daunte Wright, another black man, was accidentally shot by a cop. There are no riots in Maryland however following the police shooting of a white teen who was playing with a toy gun. I wonder what the difference is.
Fox 5 reports:
Maryland State Police say a 16-year-old who was shot and killed by a State Trooper on Tuesday in Leonardtown was wielding an airsoft gun and a knife.
State Police have identified the Leonardtown teen as Peyton Ham.
According to State Police, the Trooper, who has not been identified, responded to the scene on Hollywood Road, near the Trooper Barracks, around 1:30 p.m.
When he arrived, he encountered the teenager holding what appeared to be a gun.
A witness told State Police that the teen was aiming his gun at the Trooper when he was shot and wounded.
Another witness reportedly told State Police that the teenager stood up holding a knife.
When he refused to drop the knife, the Trooper shot him again.
State Police aided the boy until emergency crews arrived on the scene, and he died at the hospital.
They say the replica gun and the knife were recovered at the scene.
Allow me to interpret that: A teenager was playing with a toy gun on his own property when a Maryland State Trooper showed up and shot him. Reeling from the shock of being shot for no reason, the teen grabbed a knife to defend himself and was killed.
While the news identifies the teenager as Peyton Ham, they don’t mention his race. Because there has been zero unrest following this dubious use of force, you already know Peyton wasn’t black, but here’s a picture of him to prove it:
Hey look at that. This kid was white. That would explain the complete lack of riots and destruction in Maryland. If he had been black, every Walmart in the state would be  in danger of “justice looting” but thankfully the retail giant is safe.
This case bears an eerie similarity to the police shooting of black 12-year-old Tamir Rice. In a Cleveland park back in 2014, Rice was playing with a toy gun when cops rolled up on him. Rice pointed the toy gun at cops and they shot him to death. Tamir Rice was one of the names on protesters lips as they rioted in cities across the country that year.
One of the things the Black Lives Matter activists and guilty white liberal dipshits like to say is that if Tamir Rice had been white, cops would have never shot him. Peyton Ham’s family begs to differ. It’s amazing how wrong leftists are about everything, isn’t it?
Peyton Ham’s death hasn’t sparked any outrage because the left has a rule that police killings are only bad when they happen against armed black criminals. There are no riots. Nobody is helping themselves to flat-screen TVs from Target in the name of justice. Barack Obama doesn’t think this means we have to reimagine policing and Rashida Tlaib isn’t calling for all police to be eliminated because of it.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that everyone on the left is full of shit.
