“Rules for thee, but not for me!”
Michigan Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer, famed for implementing some of the most despotic health edicts in the nation, has again been caught red-handed in violation of her own emergency orders.
Breitbart News obtained a photo montage posted to Facebook revealing both Gov. Whitmer and Michigan COO Tricia Foster defying the state’s restaurant capacity order issued May 15th:
- If participating in stationary activities, groups are spaced or seated at least 6 feet apart. If participating in non-stationary activities, groups maintain a consistent 6 feet of distance from other groups at all times;
- Consumption of food or beverages is permitted only where patrons are seated, groups of patrons are separated by at least 6 feet, no more than 6 patrons are seated at a table (emphasis added), and groups of patrons do not intermingle;
Gov. Whitmer and her top aide dined with eleven other patrons at the Landshark Bar and Grill in East Lansing, Michigan over the weekend. The party was not seated in groups of six and all individuals were unmasked. The photo, which was posted by one of the attendees, was promptly deleted.
Whitmer’s office released a response on behalf of the governor on Sunday:
REACTION: After a photo surfaced of @GovWhitmer at a table in an East Lansing bar with a dozen other people, seemingly against her own COVID orders, her press secretary released this statement from Whitmer:@9and10News pic.twitter.com/fePStJvfK8

Gov. Whitmer has been met with accusations of hypocrisy by conservatives and those who follow the science of natural immunity. U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) lambasted the governor for her China Virus double standards:
Speaker Pelosi went to the salon when you couldn’t.
Gavin Newsom dined indoors at a restaurant when you couldn’t.
Governor Whitmer gathered with a large group at a bar when you couldn’t.
With Democrats, there’s always a double standard.https://t.co/XTiMjo6dMt

At this time, statewide outdoor capacity limits are in place through May 31st. A curfew is still in effect for bars and restaurants across The Great Lakes State as well. In spite of the mask mandate and capacity limits, Michigan experienced a drastic case rate spike in April. The case mortality and infection rate has declined at a steady pace over the month of May:
I don’t know if anything better summarizes the incredible failure of the expert class during Covid than the head of the CDC saying Michigan should “shut things down” and having cases immediately plummet after they did not listen to her advice pic.twitter.com/sAzQevHgM9
