Do you know who the second person to fly across the Atlantic was? How about the second person to climb Mt. Everest or the second person to invent penicillin? Of course you don’t because nobody gives a crap about the second person to do anything. That’s not entirely true, the liberal media spent all of Wednesday touting the “history” of the second black women to give a White House press briefing.
On Wednesday, human Chucky doll Jen Psaki took the day off to carve up some teenagers so deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre took over the daily press briefing. As unremarkable as this was, the liberal media saw it as a historic moment. Check out these headlines:
NBC: Karine Jean-Pierre makes history in White House briefing room
AP: Karine Jean-Pierre makes history giving White House briefing
MSNBC: Joy Reid’s one-on-one with Karine Jean-Pierre after her historic press conference
The Guardian: Karine Jean-Pierre makes history at White House briefing
ABC: White House makes history with deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre
ABC News’ Senior White House Correspondent Mary Bruce even tried to highlight the historic nature of Jean-Pierre’s appearance during the briefing:
“A bit of a personal question. Your presence here today is making history. You’re the first Black woman to stand behind that podium speaking on behalf of the president in 30 years. Just wondering if you could share your reflections with us?” Bruce asked.
“It’s a real honor to just be standing here today. I appreciate the historic nature, I really do,” replied Jean-Pierre.
So what’s so damn historic about this? Nothing really. Jean-Pierre is not the first black woman to give a White House press briefing, that distinction goes to Judy Smith who gave a press briefing in 1991 on behalf of President George H. W. Bush. Oh, I just got it.
Republicans don’t count, so Judy Smith giving a press briefing for a Republican President also didn’t count. Karine Jean-Pierre is the first black woman to give a White House press briefing for a democrat president, so therefore it is historic.
It’s the same thing as when the liberal media touted the “historic” nature of Pete Buttigeig being the first openly-gay cabinet member even though openly-gay Richard Grinnell served as the Trump administration’s Director of the United States National Intelligence.
Jean-Pierre didn’t mind being used as a racial prop by the Biden administration and enjoyed her fake historic achievement.
“I appreciate him giving me this opportunity and it’s another reason why I think we are so proud that this is the most diverse administration in history,” Jean-Pierre said.
It seems like if the Biden administration were truly diverse, Jen-Pierre would be the WH press secretary and white super-ginger Jen Psaki would be the deputy press secretary, doesn’t it?
I suggest that being the first black person to do something barely qualifies as a historic achievement, but being the second black person to do something definitely doesn’t. If Jean-Pierre wants to claim the history of being the ugliest woman to give a White House press briefing, I’ll give her that, but this is downright stupid.
