California has the toughest anti-gun laws in the country and is the model for what Biden and the democrats want to bring for the entire nation. Somehow these tough gun-control laws failed to stop an insane man from going on a shooting spree in California, which makes no sense because democrats tell us that gun control stops mass shootings. California Governor Gavin Newsom meanwhile is blaming America for California gun laws’ failure to stop this mass shooting.
California has it all when it comes to democrats’ wish list for gun control: universal background checks, waiting periods, purchase limits, assault weapons bans, normal-capacity magazine bans, red flag laws, etc… And yet, as CNN reports, all of these unconstitutional measures failed to stop a mass shooting:
A gunman opened fire Wednesday morning at a public transit rail yard in San Jose, California, killing at least eight co-workers and wounding at least one other person, Deputy Russell Davis of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said.
The gunman, an employee of the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), is dead, Davis said. He has been identified as Sam Cassidy, a law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation confirmed to CNN.
The victims ranged in age from 29 to 63, according to the medical examiner.
Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith said the victims worked together and were there in the morning together.
Cassidy had in the past spoke angrily about his coworkers and resented his work, his ex-wife told a Northern California news outlet.
Update: a 9th victim has died since this CNN report.
Despite California’s near-clampdown on gun ownership, the state’s weasely Governor blamed a lack of gun control in the U.S. for this tragedy:
“What the hell is going on in the United States of America? When are we going to come to grips with this? When are we going to put down our arms – literally and figuratively – our politics, stale rhetoric, finger pointing, all the hand wringing, consternation that produces nothing except more fury and frustration… over and over and over again,” said Newsom.
Well, this didn’t go in in America, it happened in California, which barely qualifies as America. Also, literally and figuratively, him trying to blame America for a mass shooting in gun-controlled California is stale political rhetoric and finger pointing.
“Wake up to this reality and take a little damn responsibility, all of us. Move beyond the platitudes and usual rhetoric that tends to mark not just these moments, but the aftermath of these moments, as all of you go away and this fades from view, and then we rinse and repeat someplace else in this country,” Newsom said.
The usual rhetoric that tends to mark these moments is democrats like Newsom calling for more gun control because, while the existing gun control doesn’t work to stop crazy people from doing illegal things, they say the next round of gun control will.
Whenever Biden and the democrats speak of their unconstitutional gun control bills, they frame it as something the will stop mass shootings from happening. Here is a mass shooting that happened in California, a state that has all the gun control laws Congressional democrats want to pass and it didn’t do shit to stop it. That’s undeniable science that gun control doesn’t work.
