Lead by Nancy Pelosi, the House democrats voted to form a partisan commission on the “deadly” January 6 “insurrection” at the Capitol. This commission would have come to the pre-determined conclusion that Trump, Republicans, and all white people are the enemies of the country. Luckily it went down in flames in the Senate, but few familiar Rhinoceros Republicans voted with the democrats for this farce.
In the first successful use of the filibuster during the Biden occupation, the January 6 commission failed to make it to a floor vote. It went down 54-35, failing to get the necessary 60 votes needed.
Looking at that number, you might be wondering: what the hell? There are 50 democrats and 50 Republicans, so how did this bullshit democratic project get 54 votes? Well, actually there are a lot of weird reasons for that.
First, 2 democrats didn’t even bother to show up as well as 9 Republicans. Still, the vote should have been 48-41 but it wasn’t. That’s because 6 Republican traitors sided with the democrats. Here are their unsurprising names:
Susan Collins (Maine)
Lisa Murkowski (Alaska)
Rob Portman (Ohio)
Mitt Romney (Utah)
Ben Sasse (Nebraska)
Bill Cassidy (Louisiana)
Pat Toomey (Pennsylvania) also supported forming the commission but he missed the vote.
The reason why this is unsurprising is because that list looks awfully similar to the Republican traitors who voted to convict Donald Trump is the second Senate impeachment trial:
Susan Collins (Maine)
Lisa Murkowski (Alaska)
Mitt Romney (Utah)
Ben Sasse (Nebraska)
Bill Cassidy (Louisiana)
Pat Toomey (Pennsylvania)
Richard Burr (North Carolina)
Mitt Romney hits the RINO trifecta as being the only one is this bunch who also voted to convict Trump in his first bullshit impeachment trial.
One of the funnier things about this vote is that Arizona democrat Kristen Sinema, who actively lobbied Republicans to support this commission, was one of the 2 democrats who did show up. The other was Washington democrat Patty Murray. How fitting is it that democrats told other people to do something they were unwilling to do?
Actually, the real moment of hilarity here is that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called a vote without making sure he had the votes. Or even that all of his people would be showing up. He has a lot of nicknames, but Clown is most appropriate here. What kind of idiot Senate leader blows a vote this badly? This also shows what kind of a clown car the Senate democrats are and Chuck E. Cheese is driving that thing into the lion cage.
The fake insurrection commission failure will surely cause democrats to redouble their efforts to get rid of the filibuster, but the vote shows that would fail too. Yes, there are 6-7 RINO Republican traitors in our ranks, but that’s still not 60 votes to do anything. Also Sinema and West Virginia democrat Joe Manchin oppose getting rid of the filibuster, so it ain’t gonna happen.
