Democrat Who Voted To Defund The Police Gets Carjacked

Irony comes calling…

An anti-cop Democrat got a rude introduction to reality when his car was stolen in broad daylight, a brazen act of criminality that he was helpless to stop.

Atlanta City Council Member Antonio Brown who is running for mayor to replace outgoing Keisha Lance-Bottoms stopped to talk with a community leader Ben Norman in the city’s Dixie Hills community when a group of young thieves took off in his Mercedes, briefly dragging him in process.

Brown who last year voted in favor of slicing the city’s police department budget by $73 million as his city was wracked by violence during the George Floyd riots described the thieves as four or five kids with the youngest being only 6 or 7.

The kids then jumped into the vehicle and sped away. In remarks to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Brown said “You don’t immediately think, ‘Oh, these kids are going to steal my car,’” and that one kid “acted as though he had a gun.”

The irony is off the charts considering that Brown is basing his mayoral run on “reimagining public safety” and his platform emphasizes the transformation of policing.

Brown provided additional details to Fox 5 Atlanta; “One kid was in the driver’s seat. Ben attempted to open the door to get him out of the car. He fought with Ben. I then engaged and tried to get him out of the car. The three other kids were trying to figure out how to get in the car or stay out of the car. He started to hit on the gas. Ben let go,” he said.

Brown added “As he started to speed up, and I knew that if I had not let go, I knew I probably could have killed myself because he was going so fast, I would have started to tumble. And I would have hurt him.”

Being an up-and-comer in the Democrat political machine, Brown quickly spun the car-jacking incident to promote his political agenda.

“The reality is, it’s extremely unfortunate because, why aren’t they in school? I mean, these are little kids that I would never had thought in a million years would be attempting to steal my vehicle,” Brown said in an interview, “They live in this generational poverty right now.”

Democrats who have been clamoring to defund and dismantle the nation’s police under the pretense of “reform” are going to have to answer to voters in 2022 and beyond with crime exploding under the Biden regime and politicians tripping over each other to kiss the feet of Black Lives Matter activists and racial grievance grifters like the Reverend Al Sharpton.

The exploitation of the death of career criminal and drug addict Geoge Floyd to push an extreme anti-cop agenda that coddles criminals while meting out severe punishments to law enforcement has resulted in record crime in Democrat-controlled cities with the worst of it affecting those in black and brown neighborhoods.
