According to democrats, impeding the democratic process is only bad when Republicans do it. Dems used the filibuster hundreds of times while Trump was president to block legislation. Now that Biden is occupying the White House, Republicans have used it once and democrats are screaming bloody murder. Down in Texas, democrats have fled the state to block a vote in the state legislature and illegitimate vice president Kamala Harris thinks it’s awesome.
The Texas State Legislature was set to vote on an election bill that democrats and the liberal media have dubbed a “voter suppression” law. All it would do is make Texas elections secure but liberals consider any attempt to thwart voter fraud a form of racial discrimination.
Republicans are in the majority in Texas so democrats can’t vote the bill down so they’ve come up with another way to block it: they’ve left the state, denying a quorum needed to proceed with the vote. Unlike the filibuster in the US Senate, this punk move in Texas is not part of the legislative body’s rules. In fact, when the democrats return to Texas, they will be arrested and hauled down to the State House.
The big thing to understand here is that this is a complete disruption of the democratic process, something democrats claim they are against. Like all things, they are only against it when the other guys are doing it.
Kamala Harris, who has been put in charge of voting rights, was giving a speech in Michigan on Monday and she couldn’t be more pleased with her party’s assault on democracy:
“I applaud them standing for the rights of all Americans and all Texans to express their voice through their vote,” Harris said of Texas democrats.
Give Kamaltoe some credit here. It’s hard goddamn work being both full of shit and stupid as shit. Texas democrats don’t represent all Americans or even a majority of Texans. They are also not expressing their voice through their vote, they are denying a vote. Since Republicans are in the majority in Texas, the democrats are obstructing the will of the people.
Back in March, Fox News reported this:
Vice President Harris supports changing the filibuster practice in the Senate in order to limit the ability of the minority party to easily block legislation, her office confirmed to Fox News Wednesday.
Harris’ office said that the vice president is aligned with President Biden on the issue of the filibuster.
Weird. Texas democrats are the minority party and they are blocking legislation but Harris suddenly loves it. It’s almost like democrats are hypocrites or something.

When Trump was President and Republicans controlled the Senate, democrats used the filibuster 314 times to block votes on legislation. Now that Biden has stolen the White House and democrats have an effective majority in the Senate, Republicans have used the filibuster just once. Using liberal logic, democrats say the filibuster must go because Republicans are abusing the system to undermine democracy.
Meanwhile, in Texas, democrats are taking a literal shit all over the democratic process.
