Black Lives Matter spent most of 2020 burning down cities in “protest” of American freedom and liberty. Now that the Cuban people are taking to the streets to protest the lack of freedom and liberty, BLM has come out in support of the brutal communist Cuban regime. While it’s not shocking that the trained Marxists of BLM support a communist dictatorship, it does kind of put a dent in the liberal media narrative that Black Lives Matter are fighting for freedom and liberty.
Since the Cuban people have begun protesting the the oppressive communist dictatorship of the country, liberals in America have tried to spin it as anything by a cry for freedom. The White House says the Cubans are protesting against COVID-19. Commies like Bernie Sanders says it’s America’s fault.
And then there’s Black Lives Matter. Check out their statement on the massive protests in Cuba:
Black Lives Matter condemns the U.S. federal government’s inhumane treatment of Cubans, and urges it to immediately life the economic embargo. This cruel and inhumane policy, instituted with the explicit intention of destabilizing the country and undermining Cubans’ right to choose their own government, is at the heart of Cuba’s current crisis. Since 1962, the United States has forced pain and suffering on the people of Cuba by cutting off food, medicine and supplies, costing the tiny island nation an estimated $130 billion.
That’s a funny way of admitting that communism doesn’t work. It’s also a complete lie. The U.S. embargo of Cuba forbids American companies from doing business with Cuba, but it does not include food and medicine.
Another lie is that the Cuban people get to chose their governemnet. There is no voting in communism. Nobody voted for Castro or his successors. The people in the streets of Cuba are demanding a chance to choose their own government.
The people of Cuba are being punished by the U.S. government because the country has maintained its commitment to sovereignty and self-determination.
How sovereign and self-determined is a country that can’t provide for its own people? And again, this is an admission that socialism and communism are complete failures.
But the big reason BLM supports Cuba’s commie regime is this:
Cuba historically demonstrated solidarity with oppressed peoples of African descent, from protecting Black revolutionaries like Assata Shakur through granting her asylum, to supporting Black liberation struggles in Angola, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau and South Africa.
You may know Assata Shakur as Tupac Shakur’s cop-killing aunt. She is a fugitive of justice in the U.S., convicted of killing a white New Jersey State Trooper.
And while we’re on the subject, Cuba actually treats Afro-Latinos quite badly according to The New York Times.
Finally, proving how delusional they really are, BLM is looking for Joe Biden to help out:
Now, we look to President Biden to end the embargo, something Barack Obama called for in 2016. This embargo is a blatant human rights violation and it must come to an end.
Biden ain’t going to do shit, mostly because he’s a human vegetable, but also because he won’t do anything that might result in more Cubans coming to America. You see, Cubans tend to vote Republican, so they are the wrong kind of oppressed minority for the left.
Any pretense that the liberal media had that BLM represent a fight for freedom and equality is gone with this statement. They are commies who love other commies. Period.
