Democrats Tee Up New Investigation To Cancel Kavanaugh From Supreme Court

Not content to merely launch endless investigations into former President Donald J. Trump, some Democrats are itching for another crack at Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Despite the disgraceful and dishonest tactics that the party brought to bear back in 2018 when they sought to torpedo the nomination of the respected jurist, Kavanaugh managed to land the critical support of Susan Collins of Maine and assumed his seat on the nation’s highest court amidst ferocious resistance.

Democrats never accepted their loss with some in Congress suggesting that he could be impeached while others have quietly schemed to come up with a way to cancel Kavanaugh and now they have pounced on a newly released detail about the FBI’s probe into the now-sitting justice.

In a June letter sent to Democrat senators Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island and Chris Coons of Delaware, FBI assistant director Jill Tyson divulged that a tip-line that the bureau set up resulted in over 4,500 tips, the most “relevant” of which were referred to the Office Of White House Counsel.

The news resulted in another letter by Senate Democrats led by Whitehouse sent to FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding additional details that could provide fodder for a probe into the Trump White House.

According to the letter; “The admissions in your letter corroborate and explain numerous credible accounts by individuals and firms that they had contacted the FBI with information ‘highly relevant to . . . allegations’ of sexual misconduct by Justice Kavanaugh, only to be ignored,” the senators write in their letter sent today. “If the FBI was not authorized to or did not follow up on any of the tips that it received from the tip line, it is difficult to understand the point of having a tip line at all.”

In addition to Whitehouse who was recently rocked by accusations of hypocrisy over his family’s membership in an “all-white” beach club, the letter was signed by Delaware’s Chris Coons, Mazie Hirono of Hawaii, Vermont’s Patrick Leahy, Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, Cory Booker of New Jersey and Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin of Illinois.

In the letter, the seven Democrats; “call on the FBI to answer a range of outstanding questions surrounding the Bureau’s use of the tip line and the relevant information it yielded. The senators press the Bureau for any records and communications related to the tip line investigation, including “all relevant tips” described in Wray’s letter that the FBI “provided . . . to the Office of White House Counsel.”

The timing of the FBI’s letter to Whitehouse and Coons raises eyebrows with it coming only weeks after House Democrats released a transcript of the closed door testimony of Don McGahn which was given to the House Judiciary Committee. Dems have long viewed McGahn as being critical to getting to Trump.

Democrats have been furious at the Supreme Court since a landmark ruling that upheld Arizona’s election integrity law that prevented the worst abuses of the voting system including ballot harvesting that has renewed calls for court-packing and almost certainly will use the tip-line conspiracy theory as a new avenue of attack on Kavanaugh.

Never before has such a travesty over a SCOTUS nominee taken place. The hearings were a sick circus that brought shame upon the Senate for the reliance on sketchy alleged “victims” of the young Kavanaugh along with their unprovable decades-old allegations. There were also the mobs of activists dispatched to D.C. as an intimidating presence but it wasn’t enough to prevent his confirmation.

The sheer viciousness that is being directed at Kavanaugh and not Amy Coney Barrett who replaced liberal icon, Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the bench can largely be attributed to his role on the team of Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr who investigated Bill Clinton, a humiliation that was never forgiven by Democrats.
