The hateful criminals of Black Lives Matter are a skid mark on this country’s underwear but in California, they are investigating skid marks on a BLM mural as a hate crime. Two men have been charged with felony vandalism for doing burnouts on a BLM street mural and authorities want to know if this rises to the level of a hate crime. Clearly it doesn’t but this is California where real crime is ignored so fake “woke” crime can be prosecuted to the full extend of the law.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports on anything other than the rise in violent crime in the Bay Area:
Police have arrested two people on suspicion of defacing a Black Lives Matter mural painted on a street in downtown Santa Cruz, investigators said Sunday.
The mural at 800 Center St. was defaced with vehicle tread marks late Friday, according to authorities, who said they received reports early Saturday.
Brandon Bochat, 20, of Santa Cruz and Hagan Warner, 19, of Boulder Creek (Santa Cruz County) were seen on video provided to law enforcement by community members “burning out” or intentionally applying vehicle tread marks to the length of the mural, officials said.
The two took turns driving over the mural, authorities said. Police Chief Andy Mills said Sunday that the underlying street was also damaged.
The two suspects were arrested and booked on felony vandalism charges Saturday night, police said.
Okay, I gotta call bullshit on that last part. There is clearly only one set of burnout marks, so they didn’t “take turns.”
And speaking of bullshit:
“This was an intentional act of vandalism on something that our community holds dear. For those who seek to minimize the events that took place, shame on you. This was meaningful to this community, and we will do everything within our power to make sure those who did this are brought to justice,” said Mills.
So if you don’t think laying some skid marks on a street is a big deal, you’re just as guilty of hate as they guys who did it? And speaking of hate:
At a community meeting Sunday morning at Police Department headquarters that was attended by several dozen people and also broadcast on Facebook, tensions ran high, with many questioning why the two men were not charged with a hate crime.
Mills said investigators are still collecting evidence, including looking at the social media accounts of those arrested. He added that if sufficient evidence exists at the end of an investigation, the two will be charged with a hate crime.
“This was a terrorist act against the Black community. This is actually an act of violence, it’s psychological damage,” said one angry resident.
No, an act of violence against the black community would be something like a black thug opening fire on a crowd of black people and killing a young child. You know, something that happens literally all the time.
These 2 guys have been charged with felony vandalism, which is almost as ridiculous as possibly being charged with a hate crime. The mural is on the street, which is a place where tire marks tend to happen. Plus, what’s the monetary damage? The value of paint on a street is zero dollars and zero cents. A hate crime needs a victim and streets are incapable of victimhood.
Santa Cruz, like all liberal cities in California is overrun with meth-smoking homeless scumbags and violent criminal thugs. They won’t do shit about that real crime problem, but they’re all over a couple of guys leaving skid marks on a street.
