House Freedom Caucus Calls For Cheney, Kinzinger Removal From GOP Conference

The conservative House Freedom Caucus wants Representatives Liz Cheney (RINO-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (RINO-IL) penalized for cozying up to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and her January 6 commission. This from oneamericanewsnetwork.com.

Members of the caucus gathered for a press conference Thursday to announce their effort to take the two lawmakers out of the House GOP conference.

We knew this was coming, right? Too little too late, but finally. Don’t forget to confiscate their keys to the clean wash and restrooms.

Congressman Bob Good (R-VA) defended the removal by asserting they can no longer be trusted in private Republican meetings because they are not real Republicans. He said some have dubbed the two lawmakers as “Pelosi Republicans.” The congressman added, the GOP cannot work with elected officials who criticize their own party more than they do the democrats.

Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) echoed Good’s sentiments while emphasizing Republicans who have that close of a relationship with Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Pelosi should not be allowed to listen in on meetings meant for Republican ears only.

Due to the actions of Cheney and Kinzinger, the Freedom Caucus wants to make the rules more strict. Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) wants a rule declaring any member who accepts a committee assignment outside the normal procedure “shall immediately cease to be a member of the conference.”

Biggs also renewed a call the caucus made earlier this week for House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to make a privileged motion on the House floor to remove Pelosi from her speakership role.

All of it too little to late? Not necessarily. However, this action must not be the only action of its kind. Republicans must immediately develop testicular fortitude and persevere.
