A group of democratic Texas lawmakers fled the state in a pathetic attempt to block a voting security bill. Anti-filibuster democrats and the liberal media lauded these runaways as heroes but the limelight has faded and they want to come home. In yet another stupid move, the Texas democrats are suing Governor Greg Abbott so they can come back to the state that they left under their own power.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott called a special session of the legislature to pass a law that would make state elections more secure and accessible. Because the state has a Republican majority, democrats and the liberal media falsely portrayed this law as voter suppression. Dozens of democrat lawmakers fled maskless to Washington DC on a COVID-19 super-spreader private plane.
Under Texas law, bailing on a special session to deny a quorum is an arrestable offense and Gov. Abbott has said he will snatch these runaways up when they set foot back on Texas soil and drag them down to the statehouse to pass the law.
Having put no thought into their endgame, the democrats are now forced into this ridiculous lawsuit against Abbott and 2 leading Texas House members:
Plaintiffs allege that, as a direct consequence and result of the acts of Defendants herein above complained of, Plaintiffs have been deprived of liberty for substantial periods of time, suffered much anxiety and distress over the separation from their families, and much discomfort and embarrassment and their reputations impaired, and have lost much time from their homes and the companionship and care of their families…
Keep in mind that they left under their own power and knew they were braking the law. These dumbshits are homesick and blaming Abbott for their dumbshit actions.
And speaking of some seriously dumb shit, checkout the grounds they are claiming for filing the lawsuit:
Plaintiffs will show that Defendants Abbott, Phelan, and White have embarked upon a course of conduct which is intended to violate State and Federal Constitutional Rights of the Plaintiffs and the clases of citizens they represent by denying rights under the First, Fifth, and Fourteenth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution because of
(a) Race, in that certain Plaintiffs are either black or white,
(b) Creed, in that certain Plaintiffs have expressed a faith or belief that every eligible citizen has the right to vote,
(c) Color, in that certain Plaintiffs are distinguishable based upon the melanin in their skin, and
(d) Natural origin, in that certain Plaintiffs are descendants of persons born in other countries.
So, it’s Abbotts fault they ran away because some of them are black or white, have melanin in their skin, or have immigrant parents? They played just about every card there is but it doesn’t make any sense. Especially that “natural origin” stuff. What’s up with that?
To prove what serious lawsuit this is, here are the damages they are seeking:
Wherefore, Plaintiffs claim damages of the Defendants in the amount of Five Dollars ($5.00) in actual damages to themselves and the classes they represent and Ten Dollars ($10.00 ) in punitive damages to themselves and the classes they represent.
I’d be willing to bet that Governor Abbott would give them $15 out of his own pocket if they would just come home and do their damn jobs.
While this lawsuit is insanely stupid, I’m sure they are shopping around for a radical liberal activist judge who will take up their cause. Eventually though, the Texas runaway democrats are going to have to face the consequences for their own actions and that’s the worst possible punishment for a liberal crybaby.
