Biden Says Chaos And Death Were Always Part Of His Afghanistan Plan

Joe Biden took some time off from his vacation to do a soft ball interview with ABC and still managed to strike out. In trying to defend his disastrous handling of the troop withdrawal in Afghanistan, Biden accidentally said that the chaos and death was always a part of his plan.

Biden sat down with George Stephanopoulos as part of his damage control for allowing the Taliban to take Afghanistan in 11 days. ABC News put out this highlight reel that is anything but flattering to Biden. That means the rest of the interview must be so bad and embarrassing that they can’t air it.

“When you look at what’s happened over the last week, was it a failure of intelligence, planning, execution or judgment?” Stephanopoulos asked.

That is a multiple-choice question in which Biden should pick one of those things and then elaborate. Joe went a different way:

“Look, it was a simple choice, George. When you had the government of Afghanistan, the leader of that government, get in a plane and taking off and going to another country; when you saw the significant collapse of the Afghan troops we had trained, up to 300,000 of them, just leaving their equipment and taking off — that was, you know, I’m not, that’s what happened. That’s simply what happened,” said Biden.

Stephanopoulos didn’t ask was happened. He already knows that. He wanted to know why it happened but Biden wasn’t prepared to answer that.

“We’ve all seen the pictures. We’ve seen those hundreds of people packed in a C-17. We’ve seen Afghans falling,” started Stephanopoulos.

Biden then angrily interrupted.

“That was four days ago, five days ago!” Biden yelled.

Actually it was one day ago. Two days ago. Also, does Biden have a four or five day exemption for his incompetence? If he f*cked something up 4 days ago, it doesn’t count because of the statutes of limitation?

“What did you think when you first saw those pictures?” asked Stephanopoulos.

“What I thought was, we have to gain control of this. We have to move this more quickly. We have to move in a way in which we can take control of that airport. And we did,” Biden said.

It’s a good thing Biden was being interviewed by George Stephanopoulos because a real journalist might have asked him a follow-up question regarding proof that “we” have gained any control in Afghanistan.

And finally, Biden showed off his leadership skills:

“So you don’t think this could have been handled — this exit could have been handled better in any way, no mistakes?” Stephanopoulos asked.

“No, I don’t think it could have been handled in a way that, we’re gonna go back in hindsight and look — but the idea that somehow, there’s a way to have gotten out without chaos ensuing, I don’t know how that happens. I don’t know how that happened,” Biden said.

“So for you, that was always priced into the decision?” Stephanopoulos asked.

“Yes,” Biden replied.

There you have it. Biden had planned on the Taliban taking over Afghanistan and all of the chaos and death that came with it. That’s a pretty shitty thing to say and it’s also a lie. Just last month, Biden said there was no way in hell the Taliban would take over and that withdrawing our troops would be a seamless operation.
