Fox News’ Peter Doocy broke Joe Biden on Thursday. Sure, this is kind of like saying he smashed a shattered lightbulb, but Biden is supposed to be in charge and he can’t even handle a honest question. In what is being called the defining moment of Biden’s presidency, he cracked when asked if he bears any responsibility for the mess he created in Afghanistan.
Biden gave a statement on the 13 U.S. service members killed in Kabul on Thursday in which he tried to downplay the tragedy by seeking pity for his own son who died of non-combat reasons years before. Uncharacteristically, he took questions from the press but it was a purely scripted event. He even announced that he had a list of pre-approved reporters that he had been “instructed” to call on.
With all the soft ball questions, Biden got cocky and went off script, calling on Peter Doocy:
Biden sarcastically called on Doocy by saying, “Wait, wait, wait let me take the one question from the most interesting guy that I know in the press.”
With a condescending smirk, Biden pointed at Doocy and said, “That’s you.”
“Mr. president, there has not been a U.S.service member killed in combat in Afghanistan since February of 2020. You set a deadline, you pulled troops out, you sent troops back in, and now 12 Marines are dead. You said the buck stops with you. Do you bear any responsibility for the way that things have unfolded in the last 2 weeks?” Doocy asked.
“I bear responsibility for fundamentally all that’s happened of late,” responded Biden.
So far so good, but Biden wasn’t done answering the question.
“Here’s the deal. I wish one day you’d say these things. You know as well as I do that a former president made a deal with the Taliban that he would get all American forced out of Afghanistan by May one,” continued Biden.
So he takes full responsibility, but it’s actually Trump’s fault? Anyone else in the compliment press would have let this bullshit go, but Doocy pressed Biden, pointing out that Trump is no longer the president. That’s when Biden broke.
Biden buried his head in his hands and even his sign language interpreter was like, “WTF?”
Joe Biden is supposedly the President of the United States and allegedly the leader of the free world and he can’t even take an honest question from the press without breaking. This weakness is why Russia, China, and the Taliban are walking all over him.
Biden keeps trying to say that Trump made a deal with the Taliban to get the troops out by May 1 and that he had no choice but to honor that agreement. This is a complete lie and we know this because Biden didn’t pull the troops out by May 1, he extended it to coincide with the anniversary of 9/11. Also, Biden didn’t honor any of the other deals Trump made; Keystone pipeline, Paris accord, Iran nuclear deal, remain in Mexico, etc… So why is this one particular Trump deal unbreakable?
What we are seeing with Joe Biden’s failures is like if the arm-chair quarterback got thrown into the big game. For decades, Biden had been a Senator with no real responsibility or power, who was critical of the leadership, saying, “I would handle that better than you.” Now that he’s in the White House, he’s in over his head and everyone can see what an incompetent blowhard he is.
Just the fact that Biden can’t even handle the pressure of an honest question shows that he’s unfit to hold office. And this, by the way, is why he usually only takes pre-approved scripted questions from the press.
