Democrats are as good at negotiating as they are at problem-solving. Joe Manchin is opposed to Joe Biden’s $3.5 trillion “Build Back Better” socialist spending plan and since they need his vote to pass it, are in talks with the West Virginia Senator. With time of the essence, the democrats have skipped all of their usual garbage and have gone straight to calling Manchin a racist because they think somehow that will get him on board with their agenda.
Besides the fact that $3.5 trillion in new spending will increase the already surging inflation rate, Manchin is a little concerned with the so-called climate action in the Build Back Better bill. The reason is simple: it would put everyone in the state he represents out of work, without achieving anything tangible in return.
As such, Manchin has said that all of the climate shit in BBB is a non-starter. The Hill reports:
Two Democratic senators on Tuesday expressed opposition to including a carbon tax in the massive social spending plan as Democrats scramble to make good on their pledge to combat climate change.
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) on Tuesday poured cold water on the renewed chatter of including a carbon tax.
Asked about a carbon tax, which would effectively place a fee on carbon dioxide and methane emissions, Manchin said the idea was not under discussion.
“We’re not — the carbon tax is not on the board at all right now,” Manchin told reporters.
This of course has lefties freaking the f*ck out because of all the ways they like wasting our money, climate is their favorite:

He’s one person in 50/50 Senate which means the democrats need his vote if they want to pass this piece of shit legislation. You’d think a member of Congress would be aware of this fact.
Goon Squad member Cori Bush took it a little farther and called Manchin a racist for standing in the way of the democrats socialist takeover of America:

It’s unclear how pollution manages to single out minorities but progressive arguments are not fact-based. While we’re on the subject, here’s a fact: Black, brown, and Indigenous people are more likely to be poor and rely on the cheap energy created from fossil fuels. Going green will send energy prices through the roof and black, brown, and Indigenous people will disproportionately feel the sting, which is absolutely racist.
Democrats seem to be under the impression that if they call Joe Manchin a racist enough times, he’ll finally cave to their demands. If that doesn’t work, they’ll call him a Nazi and then drop some F-bombs. After that, they got nothing. That’s literally all they have in their negotiating bag of tricks.
