The Portland city council looked all the problems in the city like constant Antifa rioting, business and people leaving, and cops quitting and decided the best fix was to pay people to grieve their abortions. The city now offers bereavement leave for “people with vaginas” after they’ve had an abortion. Hurray! The city is saved!

A seldom-read section of Portland city government’s human resources policy has started to draw national attention from abortion-rights advocates.
The city council unanimously approved changes earlier this month to their bereavement leave policy that advocates say puts Portland on the cutting edge of abortion-rights legislation. With that vote, advocates say, the city became the first in the nation to allow public employees to take paid time off after an abortion.
Under the new policy, city employees will be able to take up to three days of bereavement leave if they’ve had a miscarriage, stillbirth or any other type of pregnancy loss. The policy states that this includes abortion “irrespective of whether deemed medically necessary.”
This is very dumb but these liberal kooks accidentally admitted that abortion isn’t necessary health care like democrats try to claim.
The push to overhaul the city bereavement policy began last summer. Deputy city attorney Anne Milligan, a member of the city’s LGBTQ affinity group, told city council members during their deliberations that many employees didn’t feel represented under the old leave rules. At the time, the policy only allowed employees to take time off to mourn people they were related to biologically or through marriage.
Generally speaking, same-sex couples don’t have a need for abortions as they are incapable of conception. It’s science, look it up. Also, WTF? So, LGBT people aren’t biologically related to people who die? Where the f*ck did they come from then?
Under the new policy, employees can use bereavement leave for any type of pregnancy loss as well as the death of “any individual related by close affinity.”
Bereavement leave implies paid leave, so the city is literally paying its employees to have abortions. You’ve heard of the “Welfare Queen”? The city of Portland just gave birth (pun intended) to the “Abortion Queen.”
Another fun fact about Portland is that, in reaction to the Texas Heartbeat Law that bans abortions after 6 weeks, the city allocated massive funds for free abortions. Put these two things together and they’ll have women who constantly get knocked up, get a free abortion, and then take 3 days paid leave.
Another stupid thing about this is, when Portland city workers have abortions, everyone in the office will know about it.
“Where’s Karen? I need the quarterly reports.”
“Oh, she had an abortion and is taking her bereavement leave.”
The absolutely most insane thing about this however is: If you’re going to be all tore up about getting an abortion, don’t have one. In some states, a pregnant women has to meet with a counsellor who informs her about the deep feelings of regret that comes with killing an unborn baby for no particular reason. It would be cheaper, easier, and less ghoulish to have something like this instead of paid bereavement leave.
