Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, has been found guilty on five of the six sex-trafficking charges brought against her in federal court. Maxwell was found guilty on the following charges:

  • Count One: Conspiracy to Entice Minors to Travel to Engage in Illegal Sex Acts
  • Count Three: Conspiracy to Transport Minors With Intent to Engage in Criminal Sexual Activity
  • Count Four: Transportation of a Minor With Intent to Engage in Criminal Sexual Activity
  • Count Five: Conspiracy to Commit Sex Trafficking of Minors
  • Count Six: Sex Trafficking of Minors

Maxwell was found not guilty on one count of enticement of a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts.

District Judge Alison J. Nathan, who is presiding over the criminal sex abuse case, warned after day five of jury deliberations that the trial was at risk of disruption amid an uptick in COVID case counts proliferated by the Omicron variant.

“We now face a high and escalating risk that jurors and trial participants may need to quarantine, thus disrupting trial, putting at risk our ability to complete this trial.”

Maurene Comey, the daughter of disgraced former FBI Director James Comey, was named as a lead prosecutor in the Maxwell trial. James Comey was dismissed as FBI Director after his handling of the Russian collusion hoax investigation.

Epstein was alleged to have used a private aircraft dubbed the “Lolita Express” to court underage girls and transport notable public figures including former President Bill Clinton. A heavily redacted version of a passenger log was entered into public evidence after being provided by a former pilot of Epstein’s.

Federal prosecutors opted not to offer a plea deal to Maxwell prior to the beginning of the trial. Reports have surfaced that details on Epstein’s circle have been sealed by the judge – sparking speculation that justice may never be served to the predators who graced Epstein’s sex mansion.

The sentencing of Ghislaine Maxwell will take place in 2022.
