After Joe Biden ordered the military to purge all white supremacists, the Pentagon did an exhaustive search and found a measly 100 “extremists” out of 2 million members. They didn’t exactly say that these extremists were white supremacists or mention what they had actually done. Luckily, I was able to track one down and he’s a lieutenant colonel who the U.S. Army is looking to kick out for the racist crime of saying that COVID-19 comes from China.
Here’s some stupid news from Military.com:
A lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve was relieved of command in 2020 and is now facing removal from the force after he peddled racist opinions to his troops and peppered his social media accounts with a consistent flow of outlandish posts attacking public officials that his own lawyer described as racist, inflammatory and in poor taste.
Lt. Col. Michael Spillane, a medical officer with the 7207th Medical Support Group based out of Webster, New York, wrote a memo to soldiers under his command in June 2020, warning them of the “medical crisis created by China” and that “peaceful assemblies have turned into riots, looting, and shooting.”
Well, COVID-19 does come from China and the Summer of Floyd “peaceful protests” were fiery riots in which tens of thousands of businesses were looted and dozens of people shot. Even if you don’t believe China created COVID-19 in a lab, it still comes from China. According to the U.S. Army, the truth is now racist.
There’s actually more to this. The Army cited several memes Spillane posted to his personal social media accounts. Again, these are completely underwhelming:
Another post that Spillane shared was an altered Cream of Wheat box cover that replaced the product name with the phrase “Cream of Nothing” and swapped out the now-removed smiling, African American chef’s face with that of President Barack Obama.
Again, the truth is not racist. Obama is cream of nothing.
Multiple posts by Spillane appeared to be sympathetic to the Confederacy, the rebel group that waged a gruesome war against the U.S. mostly over the right to preserve slavery. One post shows an image of the Confederate flag, saying that “if this symbol represents racism in America, so do these” and lists logos for the Democratic Party, the BET media company, the NAACP and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
That’s not sympathy for the Confederacy, it’s pointing out the hypocrisy of the left’s selective racial outrage.
Spillane also made numerous anti-Muslim posts. One saying, “77 years after Pearl Harbor, it still hurts. But, 19 years after 9/11, we are importing them in and they’re writing our laws,” an apparent reference freshman lawmakers Reps. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., both of whom are Muslim and have drawn the partisan and racially charged ire of rightwing media and some GOP lawmakers.
That’s not anti-Muslim, it’s anti-Omar and Tlaib, plus it’s true.
Spillane has already been found guilty of Conduct Unbecoming an Officer and Gentleman and will be discharged. The only question is how he will be discharged. The Army wants to discharge him dishonorably, which will f*ck him for the rest of life, and his lawyer is fighting to have him discharged honorably.
Spillane’s lawyer’s argument is that he has 1st Amendment right to express political opinions in his private life and that the Army’s guidelines about posting to social media are too vague. He should also argue that saying true things is never wrong.
Spillane didn’t reach the rank of lieutenant colonel because he sucks, he got there because he’s a damn good soldier. The new-woke U.S. Army is going to bleed the ranks of guys like this and replace them unqualified diversity hires, which will leave our military woefully unprepared for anything but a pride parade.
