Biden lies for fun, lies because his memory is shot, and lies to push his agenda. After getting killed on “Build Back Better” Biden is trying to ram through a “voting rights” bill that would give the feds control over elections and fix the process in democrats’ favor forever. The problem is, there is a 50/50 Senate so Biden can get this through without eliminating the filibuster. In his latest lie, Biden claims 50 Senators is a minority and mustn’t be allowed to block his unconstitutional agenda.
Here’s some of Biden’s creative math:
When it comes to protecting majority rule in America, a majority should rule in the United States Senate.
To protect our democracy, I support changing the Senate rules to prevent a minority of Senators from blocking action on voting rights.
— President Biden (@POTUS) January 11, 2022
And this lie is so important to Joe that he sent it out again:
I’ll be clear: to protect our democracy, I support changing the Senate rules to prevent a minority of senators from blocking action on voting rights.
— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) January 12, 2022
As was mentioned, there is a 50/50 Senate meaning there is no majority. There are 50 Republicans and 48 democrats plus 2 independents who caucus with them. If anything, Republicans should be considered the majority in the Senate because they are the part with the most Senators.
Then there’s the reality that democrats Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema do not support Biden’s agenda, including eliminating the filibuster. What Biden is actually saying is that 52 Senators who oppose him are the “minority.”
In any case, this is a lie. There is no minority blocking his agenda. Keeping the bullshit train rolling, Biden lies that he’s protecting democracy by pushing to have the representatives of 52% of the country silenced to ram through his crap voting rights bill.
Like everything else, Biden was for it before he was against it. Back in 2005, then-Senator Joe Biden felt much differently when Republicans threatened to use the “nuclear option” to eliminate the filibuster, something they never did:
“What’s really at stake, point blank, is the shape of our Constitutional system for the next generation. The nuke-ler option is a twofer: it excises independence from our courts at the same time emasculates the Senate. Put simply, the nuke-ler option would transform the Senate the Senate from the so-called cooling saucer our Founding Fathers talked about to cool the passions of the day to a pure majoritarian body like a parliament,” said Joe.
Even back then he had trouble with the English language.
“We’ve heard a lot in recent weeks about the rights of the majority and obstructionism but the Senate is not meant to be a place of pure majoritarianism. Is majority rule what you really want?” Biden asked.
In answer to 2005 Joe Biden’s question, 2021 Joe Biden says, “A majority should rule in the United States Senate.” I wonder what changed. Oh yeah, he’s not trying to block a Republican agenda, attempting to push his own.
Joe Biden can’t count, because he doesn’t have a majority, but he sure can be counted on to be full of shit.
