We all know that speaking or accomplishing things aren’t in Joe Biden’s wheelhouse but we can now add comedy to the things he sucks at. Yesterday the illegitimate president tried telling a story, which ended in failure, Today he tried telling a joke and the results were the same: complete failure. Sure, he’s terrible but at least he keeps trying.
Biden gave a statement on the retirement of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer on Thursday and it was a weird as anything he does:
“I’m begin by recognizing both Dr. Breyer and Dr. Biden,” said Biden, bursting into laughter.
Hold on, that’s not even the joke he would attempt to tell. That was just him being insane.
This is him trying to tell a joke:
“We were joking with one another when he came in, we ever think that he would have served decades on the court and I’d be president of the United States when the day he came in to retire. I uh and he looked at it any wuh, I won’t tell you what he said. I’m joking,” said Biden.
It’s a good thing he said he was joking because some people might not have picked up on that. Pretty lame, but probably good enough to get on Saturday Night Live.
I’ve noticed that Biden frequently paints himself into a corner with his meandering thoughts. He starts to say something and then completely forgets where he was going, leaving him no exit. This is fine for an elderly relative but not so good for the guy who is supposedly running the most powerful country in the world.
Ironically, Biden then did manage to tell a joke, though it was completely unintentional:
“Choosing someone to sit as a Supreme Court, I believe, is one of the moserious Constitutional responsibility a president has. Our process is going to be rigorous. I will select a nominee worthy of Justice Breyer’s legacy of excellence and decency. While I’ve been studying candidates backgrounds and writings, I’ve made no decision except one; the person I will nominate will be someone with extraordinary qualifications, character, experience, and integrity and that person will be the first black woman ever nominated to United States Supreme Court,” Biden said.
So he’s going to get the most qualified person for the job so long as they aren’t white or male? That seems racist and sexist and it most definitely means the most qualified person will not be getting a nomination from Joe.
At the end of Biden’s comedy routine, he tried some slapstick. Biden introduced the retiring Justice and then shoved his crumpled up mask into Breyer’s hand. I’m serious, it happens at the 10:14 mark of the video. Rather than shake Breyer’s hand, Joe tries to give him his mask and then commanded, “Shake.” Biden has a way of keeping things weird.
When amateurs get up on stage and suck at comedy, hecklers always scream “don’t quit your day job” but Joe Biden really should consider it. Not only is he terrible at comedy he’s awful at running the country.
