Once Joe Biden latches on to a lie, he won’t give it up for anything. Once again the illegitimate president is claiming that the 2nd Amendment has always banned cannon ownership. This would be an easy fact-check for the liberal media if they cared because the 2nd Amendment doesn’t ban anything, it protects the right to bear arms. All arms, including cannons.
Biden visited with the police in NYC on Thursday, not to honor the recently murdered NYPD officers but rather to push his gun control agenda:
After mumbling through his gun control talking points, Biden began a train of gun lies.
“This doesn’t violate anybody’s 2nd Amendment right. There’s no violation of a 2nd Amendment right. We talk like, there’s no amendment that’s absolute,” said Biden.
Actually, all amendments in the Bill of Rights are absolute. That’s why our founding fathers took the trouble to write ’em down. Words like “Congress shall make no law” and “shall not be infringed” speak to the absolute nature of our Constitutional rights.
“When the amendment was passed it didn’t say anybody can own a gun and any kind of gun and any kind of weapon,” Biden said.
It most certainly did and does say that anybody can own a gun and any kind of gun and any kind of weapon. “The right of the people to keep and bear arms” means the people (anybody) can keep and bear (own) arms (any kind of weapon).
“You couldn’t buy a cannon when this amendment was passed,” said Biden.
Yeah you could. In fact you can still buy a cannon. Where is he coming up with this? There is no cannon clause in the 2nd Amendment nor has there ever been a cannon control law at the local, state, or federal level.
“You shouldn’t always wise to be able to buy certain assault weapons,” Biden said.
I’m not going to fact-check that last one because I’m not really sure what he was trying to say. I’m pretty sure he wasn’t sure either.
“Repeal the liability shield for gun man-a-fack-sures. Imagine had we ha a liaba, they’re the only industry in America that is exempted of being able to be sued by the public,” Biden stammered.
If a gun manufacturer makes a faulty weapon that injures someone, they can be sued. What they can’t sued for is if someone misuses their product the same way you can’t sue Honda if someone drives an Accord through your house.
That’s a tremendous amount of bullshit in a short period of time and these are all lies Biden has told before.
“Nothing, nothing I am about to recommend in any way impinges on the Second Amendment. They’re phony arguments suggesting that these are 2nd Amendment rights at stake what we’re talking about. No amendment, no amendment to the Constitution is absolute. Can’t yell ‘crowd’ in a, you can’t yell ‘fire’ in a crowded movie theater — recall a freedom of speech,” said Biden in April 2021.
“From the very beginning, you couldn’t own any weapon you wanted to own. From the very beginning that the Second Amendment existed, certain people weren’t allowed to have weapons,” said Biden, also in April 2021.
“The 2nd Amendment, from the day it was passed, limited the type of people could own a gun and what type of weapon you could own. You couldn’t buy a cannon,” said Biden in June 2021.
Not only is Biden full of shit, he’s monotonous. Get your crack team to come up with some new lies, preferably ones that aren’t this easy to destroy. Cannons? Come on, man.
