If Black Lives Matter and Antifa are looking for a new excuse to torch a police precinct and help themselves to some flat-screen TVs, this is it. Police in Minneapolis, former home of George Floyd, shot and killed an armed black man while serving a warrant. It’s a little cold right now but as soon as things thaw out, the city should erupt in fiery but peaceful riots.
The Minneapolis Police Department’s SWAT was serving a search warrant early Wednesday morning at the apartment of 22-year Amir Locke. As they entered the residence, officers announced their presence and ordered everyone to surrender:
As you can see in the video, Locke is asleep on the sofa, covered in a blanket. He got up with the blanket still over his head and produced a gun. At that point, officers shot him. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Ironically, he kind of looked like a ghost with the white blanket over him and then cops turned him into a ghost. If the late great William Munny was covering this, it would have been: Body Cam Theater: This Week’s Episode “Give Up The Ghost.”
The racial grievance mob is going to freak the f*ck out over this because Locke was asleep and they’ll argue he didn’t have time to process what was going on. They’ll further bitch that he was in his own apartment and had a right to defend himself with a gun. At this point, it’s unclear if he legally owned the gun he pulled on cops.
The reality however is that the police had a legitimate warrant they were serving. They identified themselves and gave verbal commands to surrender. When Locke pulled the firearm, they didn’t have the luxury of finding out what his intentions were. They had absolutely no choice but to shoot.
The situation certainly sucks from Locke’s perspective, but it was a justified use of force.
Facts won’t matter to the BLM crowd and this is going to turn into George Floyd Part 2; Electric Boogaloo. The NY Post reports:
Locke’s parents emotionally called for “justice” in their son’s shooting death during a press conference Friday afternoon.
“Amir was raised with morals and values, he respected law enforcement,” Locke’s mother, Karen Wells, told reporters. “He didn’t deserve what happened to him.”
Wells said her son was “executed” by Minneapolis police as she spoke alongside civil rights attorneys Ben Crump and Jeff Storms, who won a $27 million settlement between the city of Minneapolis and Floyd’s family.
“Why is it only black Americans that we don’t give a chance to live in these situations?” the attorney asked.
You got a “Dindu Nuffin” mom and George Floyd’s lawyer stirring up racial tension, accusing the Minneapolis police department of executing a black man. Yup, there’s gonna be some rioting, for sure.
Right now in Minneapolis it’s 7 degrees and supposed to hit a low of -4 at night, which is way too cold to riot. Even with the warmth of a burning police station, it’s still too uncomfortable to seek “racial justice” but when the weather is better, the city is going to be destroyed.
