Democrats hate to let a tragedy go without exploiting it but they need to be a little more selective. There was a shooting in California, which has the strictest gun laws in the nation, and Joe Biden is using that as an example of why we need more control. If it doesn’t work in California, what are the chances it will work nationwide?
There was a deadly shooting in Sacramento, California Sunday morning which left 6 people dead and at least 12 others injured. Much of the media is reporting this as a “mass shooting” but police say there were two or more shooters, so it doesn’t qualify. If anything, it looks gang-related or possibly a spontaneous fight that turned tragic. Many or all of the victims were black, so that may be a clue.
The shooters have yet to be apprehended and it is not known what types of firearms they used. It doesn’t really matter however because California has all of the anti-gun laws on Joe Biden’s wish list. Suffice it to say that Cali’s tough gun laws did nothing to stop this shooting.
And yet, here’s Joe using this shooting as an excuse to push his unconstitutional gun control agenda:
Today, America once again mourns for another community devastated by gun violence. In a single act in Sacramento, six individuals left dead and at least a dozen more injured. Families forever changed. Survivors left to heal wounds both visible and invisible.
It wasn’t a single act if there were two or more shooters.
But we must do more than mourn; we must act. That is why my Administration has taken historic executive action to implement my comprehensive gun crime reduction strategy — from standing up gun trafficking strike forces to helping cities across the country expand community violence interventions and hire more police officers for community policing.
Is it weird that Biden’s “historic” actions haven’t done shit to stop gun-related crime? Also, what makes them historic? That they were the first executive orders signed by a guy with dementia?
We also continue to call on Congress to act. Ban ghost guns. Require background checks for all gun sales. Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Repeal gun manufacturers’ immunity from liability. Pass my budget proposal, which would give cities more of the funding they need to fund the police and fund the crime prevention and intervention strategies that can make our cities safer. These are just a few of the steps Congress urgently needs to take to save lives.
California already bans ghost guns, assault weapons, and high-capacity magazines. In addition the state requires background checks on all gun purchases. Ammo purchases too.
What Biden is saying is: We need to pass these gun control measures to stop shootings like the one that happened in a place where these gun control measures already exist. I’m not sure how that makes any damn sense.
While the Sacramento shooting definitely doesn’t show the need for more gun laws it sure as shit proves that gun control doesn’t do anything to stop criminals from breaking the law.
If Biden and the democrats were serious about making cities safer they would push for black criminals to be tossed in jail instead of released in the name of social justice. They would prosecute all crime to the fullest extent no matter what the race of the perpetrator. Less scumbags on the street equals safer streets.
The reality is, democrats don’t want safer cities. They want people to be afraid so their only recourse is to accept massive government control.
