According to Shotgun Joe Biden, not only is 9mm a “high caliber” round, it’s so powerful that it can blow a lung clean out of a body. He made the factually-challenged statement as part of his argument that we should ban these deadly weapons because they aren’t used for hunting.
Fresh from his trip to Ulvade, Texas where Biden claimed he “consoled the families” of the Robb Elementary School shooting victims, Joe took some questions from reporters.
“It makes no sense to be able to purchase something that can fire up to 300 rounds,” said Biden.
He quickly amended that to say, “There’s only one reason for something, you know, that can fire 100 shots.”
He didn’t give that reason nor did he clarify if he thought there were guns that can fire 100 to 300 shots at the same time or if that’s how many rounds they can do in the life of the firearm.
There was no time to ponder this because Biden had an even more fantastical claim:
“A .22 caliber bullet will lodge in the lungs and we can probably get it out maybe everyday and save a life. A 9mm bullet blows the lung out of the body,” said Biden.
Huge if true. Actually I want a 9mm that can do this. Mine only makes small 9mm holes in things and they have to be relatively close.
“So the idea that these high-caliber weapons is of then there’s simply no rational basis for it in terms of what your about self-persection hunting, I mean, I guess,” Biden said.
Luckily I’ve been covering Biden long enough that I can translate his Alzheimersese to English. What he’s saying is that nobody needs a “high-caliber” 9mm for hunting or “self-persection.”
The 2nd Amendment contains no language that the right to keep and bear arms has anything to do with hunting or self-protection but Joe sure thinks it does. Then he rolled out some more misinformation that he’s found of:
“Remember, the Constitution, the 2nd Amendment was never absolute. You couldn’t buy a cannon when the 2nd Amendment was passed. You couldn’t go out and purchase a lot of weapons,” said Biden.
Not only could you buy a cannon when the 2nd Amendment was passed, you can still buy one now. There has never been a law banning cannon ownership in this country’s history.
Biden actually brought out all of his debunked gun control bullshit on this day:
“There was a while there where people were saying that, you know, ‘the tree of liberty is watered with the blood or patriots and we have have to do is we have to be able to take on the govermumum when they’re wrong.’ Well to do that you have to have an F-15 and you know you need an Abrams tank,” Biden said.
Okay, then we should be able to own fighter jets and tanks to take on the “govermumum.” That is not an argument for gun control, it’s proof the people need more access to military weapons.
Besides, we don’t need jets and tanks to take on the government when we have our mighty “high-caliber” 9mms, which can apparently blow the shit out of any piece of military hardware.
