Joe Biden claims to be a Constitutional law professor but clearly that’s a lie like everything that comes out of his mouth. After the Supreme Court ruled New York’s law, that denies concealed carry permits to law-abiding people, was unconstitutional, Biden issued a statement saying the decision was itself unconstitutional. He should look up which branch of the government determines the constitutionality of things. The answer may surprise him.
With Biden’s entire gun control agenda failing, you know he gots a case of the sads now that the Supreme Court has struck a major gun control law. He put those tears into words with this statement:
I am deeply disappointed by the Supreme Court’s ruling in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen. Since 1911, the State of New York has required individuals who would like to carry a concealed weapon in public to show a need to do so for the purpose of self-defense and to acquire a license. More than a century later, the United States Supreme Court has chosen to strike down New York’s long-established authority to protect its citizens. This ruling contradicts both common sense and the Constitution, and should deeply trouble us all.
In what way does the ruling contradict the Constitution? The relevant part, the 2nd Amendment says “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” New York’s law denied law-abiding people the right to bear arms. Now the Supreme Court has fixed that. It’s the most Constitutional ruling they’ve made in a long time.
Also, why should we be deeply troubled by this? I, for one, am celebrating. I live in Los Angeles County, which doesn’t issue concealed carry permits to anyone who isn’t a celebrity. Now, because of this ruling, they’re gonna have to finally issue one to me.
As for the common sense business:
In the wake of the horrific attacks in Buffalo and Uvalde, as well as the daily acts of gun violence that do not make national headlines, we must do more as a society — not less — to protect our fellow Americans.
Disarming law-abiding people while leaving criminals armed doesn’t make Americans safer, it makes scumbags safer. And seriously, what mass shooting was committed by a law-abiding person with a concealed carry permit? I can’t think of any, but Joe seems to be under the impression that because some assholes broke laws, the rest of us should be denied our Constitutional rights.
If you think Joe’s take is dumb, check out Kamala Harris:
Harris was participating in some kind of pro-abortion roundtable and used the occasion to shit-talk the Supreme Court decision. She started out by complaining that “19 babies” were killed in Ulvade, Texas, which again was said while she was promoting abortion.
Then:
“We, the president, myself, many of us are deeply concerned and troubled by the Supreme Court ruling today. It, I believe, defies commonsense and the Constitution of the United States,” said Harris.
She doesn’t believe that, she just stole those words from Biden.
“I believe the Supreme Court’s decision today defies logic in terms of what we know,” Harris added.
They apparently don’t know anything about the Constitution because otherwise they would applaud the SCOTUS reaffirming a basic and fundamental right.
They also don’t get how the U.S. government works, which is weird considering they both have law degrees and are the (illegitimate) president and vice president. The way things work, according to the Constitution, is that Congress makes the laws, the president enforces the laws, and the Supreme Court decides the Constitutionality of the laws. It’s not Biden or Harris’ place to say whether something is Constitutional or not.
If you think liberals are freaking out over this concealed carry case, wait until the Supreme Court strikes down Roe v. Wade.
