I’m sure this hasn’t, isn’t, or wasn’t on many of our radars, I know it wasn’t on mine till I looked. Animal cruelty. After reading the latest weekly The Week In WTF? 8/20/2022
It seems every week some scumbag ‘my words, and my opinion’ is caught having sex with some poor animal. I was surprised to learn President Trump signed a law on 11/25/2019 called the The Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act (PACT). It was a bill proposed by a democrat, Rep. Ted Deutch, with bipartisan support from Republican Rep. Vern Buchanan. Both of Florida, and pushed through the Senate again with bipartisan support. This law makes the burning, drowning, intentional crushing, suffocating, impalement, or other serious harm to living non-human mammals, amphibians, birds, or reptiles a Federal Crime. Punishable by a fine, and up to 7 years in prison, or both.
This law also makes it a crime, the creation of crushing videos. It reads in part (1) Crushing.–It shall be unlawful for any person to purposely engage in animal crushing in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce or within the special maritime and
territorial jurisdiction of the United States.
Are there people so sick, so broken as to create a video of an animal being crushed, and who in the hell would watch such torture?
I’m sure nothing in this law has anything to do with sex, but IMO it should. The bill says other serious harm to living non-human. Anyone sick, twisted, or broken inside, willing to use, or have sex with any non human animal is inflecting harm, and they need to be corrected. They need to be committed to a hospital for evaluation and once their sanity is confirmed either way they need removed from society, either committed to a hospital till at such time they can be tried, or they need to be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
I went looking for some law that protected animals from humans and their sick sexual fetishes and I stumbled onto another sick human fetish. I am torn as to which I find more repulsive. Killing any animal by torture while filming or recording it in any format, or the exploitation of an animal for sexual gratification.
I will say thank goodness for President Trump, this law, and the people who wrote it into a bill, regardless of which political party they are affiliated with.
I’m not sure we are doing enough, to protect our pets, our animals friends, or even our children from these people, and I use that term loosely.
I would encourage everyone who knows of any animal being abused to call your local police.
