Jennifer Lawrence, like all anti-gun Hollywood hypocrites, has made a fortune off of glorifying guns in film. While she wants to bans guns like all celebrity douchebags, she differs slightly from her peers in that the reason she thinks guns should be outlawed is because the 2nd Amendment was written over 200 years ago.
Lawrence was profiled in Vogue and much of the coverage concerned her politics, which are obviously whacko leftist. Check out this stunning piece about how Lawrence became a liberal:
Growing up in a conservative home, Lawrence thought of herself as Republican. But it was almost a cultural thing, like sports or something. She had the notion that there were two teams and that the Republicans were her team. Then one night when she was 16, she was watching 30 Rock and Liz Lemon said something along the lines of, I’m not a crazy liberal. I just think people should drive hybrid cars. It made sense. It seemed rational.
So she picked up her political beliefs from watching sitcom? Wow. Just wow.

And how on earth can anyone have children and not want to restrict access to guns, she wanted to know. “I’m raising a little boy who is going to go to school one day. Guns are the number-one cause of death for children in the United States. And people are still voting for politicians who receive money from the NRA. It blows my mind. I mean if Sandy Hook didn’t change anything? We as a nation just went, Okay! We are allowing our children to lay down their lives for our right to a second amendment that was written over 200 years ago.”
The argument here seems to be that we should ban all guns because the Constitutional right that protects gun ownership is really old. I don’t know if she is aware of this but all the rest of the amendments in the Bill of Rights are just as old.
Does that mean Lawrence doesn’t believe in free speech because the 1st Amendment was written over 200 years ago? Same for freedom of the press and freedom of religion. I wonder what the cut off date is for Lawrence in recognizing God-given rights. It’s been over 100 years since women got the right to vote. Should we toss that as a relic of the past as well?
The driving force behind Lawrence’s date-based gun control argument is that sometimes people break the law and use guns to murder children. The first uniform law against murder on American soil was the Murder Act of 1751, enacted by the British parliament. Damn, that’s even older than the 2nd Amendment. Perhaps Lawrence thinks we need to get rid of that too.
Jennifer Lawrence has a net worth of around $160 million. Much of her wealth was gained through the glorification of guns. If guns are so bad, she should start by not making them seem so cool on screen. Not that her ridiculous gun control argument has any merit, but if she’s gong to pop off about this shit, she should at least try to not be such a raging hypocrite.
