This sad story begins when Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (Commie-TX) moved her office. During the process, she rolled up a United States of America flag and placed it in a trash can in the hallway.
This from thepatriotjournal.com.
For years now, communists in America have been accused of being anti-American. President Trump put “America First” and many citizens see the Obiden Regime putting “America Last.”
Dating back to the days when leftists spit on soldiers returning home from Vietnam, [
democratscommunists] have been viewed as the opposite of patriotic.
What is the opposite of patriotic? How about: traitorous, treasonous, disloyal, false, perfidious, treacherous, faithless, inconstant, and recreant?
Of course, Jackson Lee said she wasn’t throwing the flag away, she was merely transporting it. However, that is not how you’re supposed to treat the U.S. Flag. That is not how someone who values their American citizenship would treat the U.S. Flag.
He jumped on Twitter and showed everyone the photo of the flag in the trash can:
Today’s rescue mission: saving Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s American flag from the garbage can. @JacksonLeeTX18, anytime you’d like a lesson on flag etiquette, let me know. It’s one of the first things we’re taught in basic training. pic.twitter.com/dZljLi41GA
— Rep. Brian Mast (@RepBrianMast) December 8, 2022
Mast lost both his legs and his left index finger in 2010 when he stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED) in Afghanistan. He was clearing a path for Army Rangers at the time.
As a wounded warrior—a hero—who served our country and paid a hefty price for it, he was displeased, to say the least, to see an elected official treat the U.S. Flag in this manner.
Mast added in his statement:
So, this is a W-T-F moment here in the House of Representatives.
People moving offices and this is apparently where Representative Sheila Jackson Lee keeps her American flag, her POW flag, in the garbage can, in the trash.
Mast said he knew that Jackson Lee wasn’t throwing the flag away and was merely moving it.
But moving it in a trashcan isn’t just disrespectful, it’s insulting—this according to most veterans who served, and millions of American citizens. Especially those who are sick of the anti-America plague.
To be specific, a U.S. Flag Code does exist. And according to 4 U.S. Code Ch. 1:
- §8 (b) ‘The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.’
- §8 (e) ‘The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.’
Americans have seen the U.S. flag abused in numerous ways in recent years, including protesters tearing and burning it.
Even worse, we have many of the most influential people in the country—politicians, celebrities, lawmakers—looking the other way when it happens. Some obviously support it, which is technically treasonous.
But the idea of national pride and patriotism has been demonized by the left for decades, so it’s no surprise to some citizens when a politician opts to move her flag by way of a trash can.
