Trump Says He Will NOT Sign RNC “Loyalty Pledge” Needed For Debates

President Trump in an interview with Newsmax said he will not sign the RNC’s “Loyalty Pledge” to support any Republican presidential candidate besides himself.

This from 100percentfedup.com.

Trump told Newsmax host Eric Bolling:

I wouldn’t sign the pledge. Why would I sign a pledge if there are people on there that I wouldn’t have?

He continued:

I can name three or four people that I wouldn’t support for president. So right there, there’s a problem.

Here’s what Axios reported:

President Trump said Wednesday he won’t sign an RNC loyalty pledge to support the eventual Republican presidential nominee.

The Republican National Committee requires all candidates to sign the pledge in order to take part in the first primary debate, which Fox News will broadcast on Aug. 23.

Republican presidential front-runner Trump has previously hinted that he may skip the debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and his comments to Newsmax on Wednesday are the strongest sign yet that he won’t attend.

‘I wouldn’t sign the pledge. Why would I sign a pledge if there are people on there that I wouldn’t have?’ Trump told Newsmax’s Eric Bolling.

‘I can name three or four people that I wouldn’t support for president. So right there, there’s a problem,’ he said.

Trump added that former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson and ex-New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, both staunch Trump critics, would ‘ask me nasty questions’ at the debate.

He said Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy were both ‘very nice … very capable’ and ‘very good people, but why would you do that when you’re leading by so much?’

Per Just The News:

President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced that he will not sign a pledge to support the eventual Republican presidential nominee in 2024 that party leadership requires candidates sign to appear on the Aug. 23 debate stage.

‘I wouldn’t sign the pledge,’ Trump told Newsmax’s Eric Bolling. ‘Why would I sign a pledge if there are people on there that I wouldn’t have. I wouldn’t have certain people as somebody that I would endorse.’

He further indicated that he had ‘already decided’ on whether to attend the debate and that he would announce his plans next week. Republican National Committee (RNC) requires that candidates meet donor and polling thresholds, as well as sign the pledge to appear on the debate stage. It remains unclear whether the party will permit Trump to debate without signing it.

The…president is currently the clear frontrunner for the party nomination, leading nearest rival Ron DeSantis by 38.0% in the RealClearPolitics polling average.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has previously warned Trump against skipping the debate, contending that if ‘you want to win the nomination, you’ve got to get in front of those primary voters.’

Final thoughts: I don’t trust RINO Ronna Romney-McDaniel. I believe she will do anything to prevent Present Trump from being the Republican Party nominee.
