No more double doubles in Oakland, California.
In-N-Out announced they are shutting down their only restaurant in the city due to the surging crime wave.
Chief Operating Officer Denny Warnick said:
We have made the decision to close our In-N-Out Burger location in Oakland, California, due to ongoing issues with crime. Despite taking repeated steps to create safer conditions, our Customers and Associates are regularly victimized by car break-ins, property damage, theft, and armed robberies.
Hundreds of customers and staffers have reportedly been victims of crime—making it simply unsafe and unsustainable for the burger chain to remain in the city.
Warnick said:
We are grateful for the local community, which has supported us for over 18 years, and we recognize that this closure negatively impacts our Associates and their families. Additionally, this location remains a busy and profitable one for the company, but our top priority must be the safety and wellbeing of our Customers and Associates – we cannot ask them to visit or work in an unsafe environment.
SF Gate reports the burger chain is just two miles from the airport where rental car companies have actually warned customers to watch their belongings and avoid filling up on gas stations in the area.
Last week, Oakland police told SFGATE:
[T]hat 271 auto burglaries occurred at the Shell gas station on 285 Hegenberger Road in 2023 along with 15 robberies and five instances of vehicle theft.
On a regular day, I’d say five. On a bad day, I can’t even get a report in because it’s back-to-back.
There is no one to blame but the criminals and the communist/globalist crime syndicate’s soft-on-crime policies. Oakland has become a no-go zone for law-abiding burger lovers.
