A two-story-tall bronze statue depicting President-elect Donald Trump’s iconic fist pump is set to be unveiled at his upcoming inauguration.
The statue commemorates Trump’s defiant gesture following the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, last July.

The statue captures the moment when Trump, with blood on his face, raised his fist in defiance after surviving the attack. This image, captured by Associated Press photographer Evan Vucci, has been hailed as “a legendary American photograph” and the “pinnacle of photojournalism.”

Sculptor Bill Secunda, a resident of Butler, Pennsylvania, and a longtime welder, crafted the statue using 4,000 twisted metal nails. Secunda repurposed an older statue of Trump to create this representation, inspired by a suggestion from a family member. He hopes the statue will convey messages of unity and resonate across the political spectrum.
