Opinion: Crossfire Hurricane Hoax—Will Anyone Pay a Price for the Attempted Coup?

Kash Patel and Dan Bongino sat down for a wide-ranging interview with Maria Bartiromo and of all the issues discussed, the one that stuck out the most was the snippet about Russiagate.

The FBI was Ground Zero:

[A]s important as the Clinton Campaign’s push to get the Steele Dossier into the public [was], it was the FBI that picked up the ball and ran with it for two years.

In the process, they violated numerous laws. For starters:

 – Conspirators who literally plotted to prevent Trump from getting elected and then to destroy him once in office were exposed,

– They were eventually paid off by [The Obiden Regime], and

– FBI officials lied to the FISA courts to get warrants to spy on Trump associates.

There are a lot of bodies buried, and the map to where they are is found at the FBI.

Kash Patel and Dan Bongino–the Director and Assistant Director of the FBI– are both hardened professionals who have reason to be focused on rooting out the truth, and Bartiromo asked the obvious questions:

 – Will anything be done with the evidence that gets uncovered? and

 – [W]hy haven’t we already seen what has been dug up?

The answer was interesting, and it rings true:

[T]he evidence is there, but if you want to do anything with it you have to do it right, not just dump it in the public realm.

It will take some time to do it right, especially since, unlike during his time leading the Russiagate investigation for the House Intelligence Committee, Patel has his fingers in a lot of pies.

Is this an excuse, like Pam Bondi’s walk-back from exposing the Epstein Files appears to be?

Not likely. Patel and Bongino have a personal stake in the outcome, and it is hard to imagine there are any political reasons to cover up malfeasance of FBI agents, Obama officials, or Biden officials. With the Epstein files, We the People can easily imagine some politically connected people working hard to keep their names out of the news, including Republicans or big donors, but Patel and Bongino being persuaded to hide inconvenient facts goes against the grain of believability.

The monster be wrestled in this instance is different. If anyone is to be successfully held accountable, an ironclad case must be built, and the FBI is thorough, for good or ill. Building cases can take years, and the people who are interested in escaping responsibility have had nearly a decade to hide their complicity, plus some may still be in positions of responsibility.

One additional thought: even if an ironclad case can be put together, will any one pay a price? No matter how strong the case, every Leftist will participate in a circling of the wagons and fight to the death to prevent any fellow conniver from going down. And since some members of the judiciary were complicit—those FISA Court judges, perhaps—every one in the establishment will do their best to preserve the system that gave them the power to nearly take down a president.

With the Epstein cases, anything short of video evidence and the billionaires and celebrities will likely escape jail. In which case, all the evidence should be dumped into the public realm and public scorn will provide some measure of accountability.

With Crossfire Hurricane, We the People want “Ultimate Accountability.” No less than perp walks, forfeiture of assets, and long prison sentences. Every high-level felon must be destroyed, just as they tried to destroy Trump, General Flynn, and many others.

If it takes years to move forward from where we are now, fine.
