Backstabbing Mitt Romney Attacks Trump Over McCain

Sniveling chickenshit Mitt Romney is back on the attack again…

It is amazing that he was able to control himself for so long but Romney’s resentment for President Trump has boiled over as Utah’s newest senator flew to the defense the establishment’s cherished hero John McCain.

McCain has been dead for months now but the passion for the old warmonger still burns as hotly as ever for the “maverick” who is even more beloved by Democrats than with “Never Trump” Republicans, a failed but still active movement of which Romney is a leader.

The outrage machine roared to life over the weekend following a tweet in which Trump blasted Saint John for his role in the dissemination of the discredited Steele dossier as well as McCain’s spiteful vote to torpedo the repeal of Obamacare.

When confronted by the adversarial press and given a chance to walk back his words, Trump stood his ground:

The former governor of ultra-liberal Massachusetts saw his opening and quickly seized upon Trump’s daring to tell the truth about McCain and fired the first shot in what will soon become renewed mutual hostilities when the president responds to such treachery.

Not only that, but Mitt is a backstabbing ingrate to resort to such a low blow after Trump buried the hatchet and took the high road by endorsing Romney’s U.S. Senate bid.

But that’s just the way that Romney rolls and despite accepting Trump’s best wishes, he is now brandishing a shank.

Via Fox News, “Romney ‘can’t understand’ why Trump would bash McCain”:

Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney came to the defense of his late friend, Sen. John McCain, on Tuesday and criticized President Trump for what he called disparaging remarks.

Romney took to Twitter to write that he couldn’t “understand why” Trump would go after McCain “once again,” referencing a comment Trump made about not being “a fan” of the Arizona Republican after tweeting over the weekend about the “stains” on his career.

“I can’t understand why the President would, once again, disparage a man as exemplary as my friend John McCain: heroic, courageous, patriotic, honorable, self-effacing, self-sacrificing, empathetic, and driven by duty to family, country, and God,” Romney’s tweet read.

Romney joined a number of Democrats in taking up for McCain and while it isn’t nice to speak ill of the dead, at least the POTUS is consistent because he never had much good to say about the “war hero” when he was still above ground.

Some would question exactly what it is that gives Mitt – of all people – the moral standing to lead the attacks on Trump; after all, it was thanks to Romney’s fumbling away of a winnable election against a suspect opponent that subjected America to a second four years of the Obama horror.

As Trump so eloquently put it, Romney “choked like a dog” and the consequences were devastating as Obama ran roughshod over the Constitution and went about the business of wrecking race relations for the sale of winning elections.

It should be noted that Romney could have manned-up and climbed into the ring along with the other sixteen Republicans who battled (and ultimately lost) to Trump during the 2016 primaries but just as he did when it came to punching back against Obama, he lacked both the integrity as well as the spine to do so.

The renewed obsession with protecting McCain’s honor truly illustrates the fecklessness of the Republicans in the Senate who have refused to defend Trump against a 24/7 media smear campaign that has run for years as well as the Mueller witch hunt.

These wretched RINO’s are little better than the Democrats and in Romney’s case, what’s the difference?

Trump has had enough trouble with the opposition and it’s only going to get worse due to the traitors in his own ranks.
