Quick Takes from the Past 24-48 Hours

The following is an installment of Trump-Vance team accomplishments (each article is linked for further info):

(NOTE: Relax! We the People may not have even thought of some of this stuff, but the Trump-Vance ‘A’ team is already on top of it.)

1. We Will ‘Liberate’ LA, Trump Marked Army’s 250th Anniversary in Speech

President Trump called protesters in Los Angeles “animals” and “a foreign enemy” in a speech at Fort Bragg on Tuesday as he defended deploying the military on demonstrators opposed to his immigration enforcement raids and as he vowed to “liberate” the West Coast city.

The president said:

We will not allow an American city to be invaded and conquered by a foreign enemy. That’s what they are.

Trump’s intense comments came as he has left open the possibility of invoking the Insurrection Act, one of the most extreme emergency powers available to the president. It authorizes him to deploy military forces inside the U.S. to suppress rebellion or domestic violence or to enforce the law in certain situations.

The president authorized the deployment of 4,000 National Guard soldiers to the city against the wishes of California Gov. Gavin Newsom. Approximately 700 Marines were also deployed to the Los Angeles area but had not yet been sent to respond to the protests and have not engaged protesters.

Trump also announced his administration was restoring the names of seven military bases that were given the monikers of Confederate leaders until being changed by The Obiden Regime. Fort Pickett, Fort Robert E. Lee and Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia, Fort Hood in Texas, Fort Gordon in Georgia, Fort Rucker in Alabama and Fort Polk in Louisiana will have their names changed back, Trump said. SecDef Hegseth has already brought back the names of Fort Bragg in North Carolina and Fort Benning in Georgia.

2. Trump Plans Illegal Migrant Transfers to Guantanamo Bay

The government is set to significantly expand the use of the military facility to detain illegal migrants, with at least 9,000 individuals being vetted for transfer as early as Wednesday.

This marks a dramatic rise from the approximately 500 migrants who have been held at the base since February as part of a broader strategy President Trump outlined in January. That plan includes the eventual use of the facility to detain as many as 30,000 illegal migrants.

One document lists about 800 European nationals—including 170 Russians, 100 Romanians, and one Austrian—as potential candidates for the transfers. That element of the proposal has caused alarm among State Department officials who argue that most European nations cooperate in accepting deportees, making such measures unnecessary.

Historically, the Guantanamo facility housed up to 780 terrorism suspects during the height of the war on terror. More recently, it has been used sporadically for illegal migrants, with the administration asserting in a February court filing that the site is meant for “temporary staging” rather than indefinite detention.

3. GM Announced $4 Billion Investment in US Manufacturing, Moving Production Out of Mexico

This is one of the improvements for which We the People voted. The stripping of jobs from America began in 1971. The globalist/deep state plan involved first taking the United States off the gold standard then diminishing our beloved country by removing our vast beautiful system of production.

The Trump Plan is to return manufacturing to America.

A General Motors representative said late Tuesday the investment will be made over the next two years and is for its gas and electric vehicles. The company will add production of the gas-powered Chevrolet Blazer and Chevrolet Equinox, which are made in Mexico, to two American plants starting in 2027. The Blazer will be produced at GM’s Spring Hill, Tennessee plant, while the Equinox will be made at its Kansas City, Kansas facility.

This is more work for Tennesseans and Kansans as the Detroit automaker is moving jobs back to America, as the tariffs were intended to do.

The new investment will give GM the ability to assemble more than 2 million vehicles per year in the U.S.

CEO Mary Barra said in a statement on Tuesday that GM is committed to building vehicles in the U.S. and supporting American jobs.

4. SoS Rubio Ordered Firings of All USAID Staffers Overseas

Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered U.S. embassies around the world Tuesday to move ahead with a directive to fire all remaining staffers with USAID. He said the State Department will take over USAID’s foreign assistance programs by Monday.

A federal judge had temporarily blocked an executive order by President Donald Trump for mass firings at multiple federal agencies, including the State Department, and plaintiffs say Rubio’s reorganization plan appears to violate that court injunction, but the Trump administration says the plan was already underway when the president issued the order, so there’s no possible violation.

State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said Tuesday that Rubio’s directive “wasn’t a surprise.”

Further:

[T]his was a cable, telling our posts exactly what they were expecting to be told, which is that those positions were being eliminated. So it wasn’t a surprise. It’s nothing new. And, it is exactly what we previewed, in February and March of this year.

Rubio told embassies to stick to the department’s plan “to abolish all USAID overseas positions” by Sept. 30.

The termination of all remaining USAID staffers abroad is one of the last steps in the destruction of the U.S. aid agency and the firing of its more than 10,000 staffers and contractors by the Trump administration and DOGE. They had made USAID one of their first targets for elimination.

5. It’s Working: All Quiet on the Southern Front

President Trump made illegal alien entry and border security key points of his 2024 presidential campaign. Now we see the results. On Wednesday, DoD Press Secretary Kingsley Wilson announced the border is under control.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth chimed in:

Border security is national security, and national security. The Department of Defense, the Border Patrol, either, the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and all of the state and local officials were finally allowed to do their actual jobs and to get this done.

Across the entire span of the U.S.-Mexico border, the change is stark and, relatively speaking, it happened nearly overnight. Where Border Patrol agents encountered well over 100,000 migrants and asylum seekers just a year ago, they now see fewer than 10,000. More than four months into President Trump’s second term, one of his signature campaign promises—shutting down the flow of illegal aliens across the border—seems fulfilled.

6. Karoline Leavitt Torched Two Reporters on Riots and Dropped the Left with a Big Fact about Who’s Involved

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt gave an unequivocal message to left-wing radical, anti-ICE rioters or anyone thinking of becoming involved in the insanity, thinking they can stop the deportation efforts.

Then in response to repetitive questions from CNN’s Kaitlan Collins:

Last but not least entertaining, Leavitt was also asked if President Trump would “allow” peaceful protests at the celebration of the birthday of the Army parade on Saturday. Her response:
