In 8 years in the White House Obama accomplished next to nothing. He went on a lot of tax-payer funded vacations, watched a lot of ESPN, ate some almonds, and played some golf, but in terms of doing things a president is supposed to do, his accomplishments are imperceivable. In a shocking new development, if Obama could somehow become president again, he would continue to do nothing. Hey, if it ain’t broke, why fix it?
Obama was recently in Oslo, Norway at some kind of business forum, and the business he had in mind was longing to get back in the White House. The moderator asked him if he could become POTUS again, even if for just one day, what would he do.
“You know, the truth is if I was president for a day, I wouldn’t do much because, um…the nature of…the US presidency,” said Obama.
After saying he would do nothing if he could be president again, Obama tried to defend his ineffectiveness by saying that being the President of the United States makes it impossible to do anything meaningful. It may be impossible for Obama, and that’s on him, but his successor Donald Trump has achieved many great things in just over a year and a half in the position.
“So in one day, I would say hello all the staff in the White House that I miss,” Obama said.
I feel like at this point President Trump has rid the White House of Obama-era staff, but whatever.
Obama then switched to actively wishing he could be president again.
“Obviously, if I had a longer period of time…There was a lot of unfinished business,” said Obama.
That may be the understatement of the decade. If you spend 8 years doing nothing, there’s clearly there’s going to be a lot let to achieve. In fact, that leaves everything left to achieve. FYI, Obama’s unfinished business is that he didn’t stop man-made global warming. The irony is, he can actually do nothing while stopping a thing that doesn’t exist.
Obama also took a shot at President Trump, saying it was unfortunate that the current administration doesn’t share in his whacko agenda he never got around to doing.
And finally, Obama explained just how little he would do if he could be president again:
“So if I were in the seat again, I would focus on how could we continue to build on some of the progress that was made during my presidency,” Obama said.
How do you build on nothing? Nothing plus nothing equals nothing. If you start stacking nothing on top of nothing, it’s still a pile of nothing.
Technically Obama didn’t do absolutely nothing, although he definitely didn’t do anything good. He did nothing that benefitted Americans or the US economy but luckily those things that he did do were with executive orders and President Trump was able to undo them easily. The net result of Obama’s presidency is that he did nothing, plus he was the laziest mofo to ever occupy the White House.
