NBA Coach Doc Rivers Says ‘Guns Are The Terrorist’

Following the mass shooting at a Parkland, FL high school last February liberals developed a vicious talking point, accusing the NRA of being terrorists who kill children. This never really caught on because the NRA is the oldest civil rights organization in the country and its 5 million members are the most law-abiding among us. Liberals will do anything but blame the scumbags who actually pull the trigger, so they went back to the drawing board and came up with a new BS scapegoat. NBA coach Doc Rivers is trying out a “guns are terrorists” kind of thing, but this is actually dumber than what they had going on before.

There was a mass shooting at a Thousand Oaks, CA country bar this week in which 12 people died. The shooting happened in gun-controlled California, didn’t involve a scary-looking “assault” weapon, and the victims had too much “white privilege” for liberals to do much gun-control exploitation. Head coach of the LA Clippers, Doc Rivers, however didn’t get the memo to sit this one out and went off-script on this gun control lunacy, as reported by ClutchPoints.

Rivers started out parroting the sentiments of the Thousand Oaks shooter that thoughts and prayers are insulting to the victims:

“It’s just sad. It really is. It’s sad. The gun violence … I just don’t know at what point [we say enough]. You can go see a video with JFK talking and he’s talking about, ‘my thoughts and prayers are with the families.’ JFK! When you think about that and think how long ago that was and we’re still saying [that] … The politicians, they have it on predial now. They say the same thing and we don’t do anything,” said Rivers.

Where are these videos of JFK offering thoughts and prayers after a mass shooting? Also, what the f*ck is “predial?” I can’t answer that JFK question, but I looked up “predial” and it means: relating to or consisting of land or farming. I’m more confused than before.

The Thousand Oaks shooter was a former Marine who reportedly suffered from mental illness, which prompted this from Rivers:

“Mental Illness is sad, but [lack of] gun control is sadder,” Rivers said.

Let’s see if I have this straight: crippling mental illness that destroys people’s lives isn’t as sad as respecting people’s Constitutionally-protected gun ownership rights? That’s a pretty messed up thing to say on so many levels.

Finally there is this thing that Rivers is hoping will end up on a bumper sticker:

“This whole thing about, ‘I guess it wasn’t a terrorist attack,’ just infuriates me. If that was your child, I’d bet they think it was a terrorist attack. The guns are the terrorist, and until we understand that, we’re going to keep having terrorist attacks,” said Rivers.

The guns are the terrorist? I think it would have been more grammatically correct for him to say “the guns are the terrorists” but it that’s hardly what makes this insanely stupid. Guns are inanimate objects that do absolutely nothing unless manipulated by a human being or a really evil dog. Guns are made out of metal, wood, plastic, and composites. They don’t hate, they don’t premeditate, and without a human on the trigger, they are as dangerous as a paperweight.

Right now there are somewhere between 300 million and 400 million firearms in the United States. Not a single one of these guns will ever kill someone unless a person loads it, aims it, and, pulls the trigger. Guns don’t just “go off” on their own and they sure as hell don’t plan and carry out terrorist attacks.
