Earlier this month a 7-year-old migrant girl from Guatemala died in US custody and liberals flew into a rage accusing President Trump’s immigration policies of killing children. It didn’t matter to the left that this girl was deprived of food and water for days by her father and that the United States did everything they could to save her, they blamed Trump. Another child from Guatemala died in the custody of the US Border Patrol on Monday, and while the circumstances of the death haven’t been revealed, liberals are pointing the finger again at the President.
CNN reports:
An 8-year-old Guatemalan boy died late Christmas Eve in the custody of US Customs and Border Protection, the agency said, the second Guatemalan child to die in the agency’s custody this month.
The boy, who was detained with his father, died shortly before midnight at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in Alamogordo, New Mexico, about 90 miles north of the border crossing in El Paso, Texas.
A border agent noticed the boy was ill and took him to the hospital. After seeing a doctor, the boy was diagnosed with a cold, given medication, and released.
“The child was held for an additional 90 minutes for observation and then released from the hospital mid-afternoon on December 24 with prescriptions for amoxicillin and Ibuprofen,” said CBP in a statement.
The next day the boy’s condition worsened and he was readmitted to the hospital where, despite doctor’s efforts, he died. The cause and circumstance of the death is unknown at this time and Border Patrol is investigating.
Democrats can’t wait for the facts to come in so they immediately flew into a rage. Here’s Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson’s take:
What is happening at our southern border?! This makes the second death of a young child at our border in as many weeks. This is outrageous! This shocks the conscience.https://t.co/38VLtmtVFz

California Rep. Rep. Lou Correa issued a veiled threat against the Trump administration by saying, “This will not go unanswered.”
New York Rep. Adriano Espaillat went even further by accusing CBP of being responsible for the boy’s death.
“It is clear [CBP] is not trained nor prepared to provide medical or emergency responses to anyone in its custody & especially not to children,” wrote Espaillat.
How exactly is that clear? Does Espaillat have information about this boy’s death that nobody else does? The facts are not in which means that nothing is clear at this point.
Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro also blamed Trump for something that is not his fault.
“The administration’s policy of turning people away from legal ports of entry, otherwise known as metering, is putting families and children in great danger. … Many questions remain unanswered, including how many children have died in U.S. Customs and Border Protection custody. With two deaths that we know about just in the last few weeks, Congress will continue to press the Department of Homeland Security until we get answers to all our questions,” said Castro.
The liberal media also got in on the fact-free hysteria. USA Today called the boy’s death “unconscionable and unacceptable” and placed all blame on President Trump
We demanded medical screenings, adequate food and water, and other basic necessities. The fact that we needed to sue our government to force it to treat people with dignity is an outrage. No one belongs in a cage, but if the government is jailing children, providing all of them with timely and adequate medical care is the very least it should do.
Despite this, President Donald Trump is demanding billions of taxpayer dollars for his vanity wall, shutting down the government and forcing hundreds of thousands of workers to live without paychecks, all for an agency that fails the most basic tests of decency and humanity on a daily basis.
No kids were in cages and certainly this 8-year-old boy wasn’t, but again, this is not outrage based on the facts of the case.
Justin Miller from The Daily Beast went so far as to accuse Trump of putting migrants in concentration camps for extermination.
Another migrant child dies in US custody and the discuss goes to making jails and concentration camps more humane, not whether a family should be there in the first place, mercilessly prosecuted for a nonviolent misdemeanor.

The sad reality is that children die of illness all the time, including American children who are not in custody. The facts still are not in on this little boy’s death but chances are his health issues were related to his negligent parents and not the US Border Patrol agents and doctors who tried to save his life.
This is another sick attempt by the democrats to exploit and politicize a tragic death. If they aren’t going to give President Trump credit for all the good things he’s done with the economy, they can’t blame him for things that he had nothing to do with. Well they can I guess, but they shouldn’t.
