New York governor Andrew Cuomo recently pardoned a bunch of immigrant criminals so they wouldn’t be deported just to spite Trump. This appears to be the new wave of resistance against the President as a group of liberals wants to rename Fifth Avenue in NYC after Barack Obama to spite Trump. Where does the spite come in? Well, it just so happens that Trump Tower is on Fifth Avenue, so the President would have to change his address to Barack Obama Blvd. or whatever lame name the liberals come up with. The Resistance has gone from impeaching Trump to making him order new return address labels. It’s hard to imagine Trump’s presidency can survive.
This MoveOn.org petition is the sad state of affairs in the anti-Trump Resistance:
We request the stretch of Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th Streets be renamed “President Barack H. Obama Avenue.” Any addresses on that stretch of Fifth Avenue should be changed accordingly.
Coincidentally enough, that stretch of Fifth Avenue is where Trump Tower is located. Now that I think about it, maybe it’s not a coincidence at all. That’s where Donald Trump’s residence is located as well as his campaign headquarters for his 2020 reelection. If that block of Fifth Avenue where renamed “Barack H. Obama Avenue” (boulevard is better) then Trump would have to put Obama’s name on all of his reelection mailers and correspondence. Take that Trump!
The petition doesn’t specifically say they want to rename the street after Obama to spite Trump, but that’s a given. It does list another hilarious reason for the request however. Get ready to read the funniest thing this year so far:
The City of Los Angeles recently honored former President Barack Obama by renaming a stretch of the 134 Freeway near Downtown LA in his honor.
We request the New York City Mayor and City Council do the same by renaming a block of Fifth Avenue after the former president who saved our nation from the Great Recession, achieved too many other accomplishments to list, and whose two terms in office were completely scandal free.
Can I get a fact-check on aisle 3 please? Obama presided over the slowest recovery and economic growth in history. All of his accomplishments that the petition says are too many to list, were done with executive action and President Trump has undone every last one of them. The IRS, the VA, the NSA, and Benghazi beg to differ that Obama’s 8-year reign of uselessness was scandal free.
The petition almost has the 15,000 signatures it seeks and it’s actually amazing they haven’t already collected enough. Liberals love the lazy “activism” of signing things online, especially if they think it’s a blow against Trump.
In order for this street name change to take effect, NYC mayor Bill de Blasio and city council would have to sign off on it and they’re all a bunch of Trump-hating liberal kooks so this seems like a done deal. Still, “Barack H. Obama Avenue” is so lame they should come up with something that truly honors the former occupier of the White House, like:

The reason why a stretch of the 134 freeway near Los Angeles was named after Obama is because he spent a semester at a college in the general vicinity, which is pretty flimsy. Renaming a stretch of Fifth Avenue after Obama to spite President Trump is some seriously weak sauce, but this is what the Resistance forces have been reduced to.
