The Democrats appear to have finally found something to base their 2020 campaigns on other than Trump hatred and kooky Russian conspiracy theories and that would be a massive expansion of government under that is being promoted as the Green New Deal.
The still inchoate program is being promoted by such far-left figures as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders and despite the branding that cribs from FDR’s New Deal, make no mistake, this is a Trojan Horse for socialism.
Ocasio-Cortez who has been called the “future” of the Democratic party by none other than DNC boss Tom Perez claims that the Green New Deal will be the panacea for all social and societal ills and will eliminate inequality if it ever gets off the ground.
It will also be the biggest confiscation of wealth in American history, something that AOC herself admitted and now that Dems seem to have invented the perfect mousetrap to lure gullible slacker millennials, others are rushing to embrace the idea.
Like rock star Robert “Beto” O’Rourke who is being foisted upon America by elements of the party establishment including Barack Obama and who is adored by the celebrities that are the opinion leaders of the political left.
Beto is totally down with using big government to shake down productive members of society in order to redistribute the money to the masses and just came out in support of the Green New Deal.

Beto O’Rourke is the latest potential 2020 presidential candidate to get behind a Green New Deal.
In a statement to HuffPost, a spokesman for O’Rourke, whose high-profile bid to unseat Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) propelled the former House Democrat from Texas onto the national stage last year, said he is “supportive of the concept” of a Green New Deal and “how it invests in green jobs.”
“[He] is looking forward to engaging more on the issue as it continues to develop,” Chris Evans, a spokesman for O’Rourke, said by email Friday. “As he mentioned while traveling to every county across Texas during his senate campaign, he’s proud to come from a renewable energy producing state that is number one in wind power production, number one in wind power jobs and number one in solar energy potential.”
Three days ago, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), who on Monday announced the launch of an exploratory committee for a presidential bid, told Axios she supports the “idea” of a Green New Deal.
The term surged into mainstream political discourse just two months ago when activists staged a protest in now–House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office, demanding that the incoming Democratic majority in the House champion a sweeping climate policy to zero out greenhouse gas emissions and combat worsening income inequality. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) proposed a resolution to establish a select committee on a Green New Deal and garnered support from about 40 House Democrats.
Whether Beto is sincere in his convictions is dubious as the guy has already shown that he’s the penultimate opportunist but make no mistake that socialism is on the march and unless these Democrats are soundly routed at the ballot box, America may be the latest nation that has been wrecked by these dangerous ideas.
