Chuck and Nancy continue to stare down President Trump over the government shutdown and the Democrat leaders’ refusal to budge over funding for the border wall that is critical for our national and economic security.
The president’s nationally televised White House speech on Tuesday was followed by a bizarre rebuttal by Sen. Schumer and Rep. Pelosi that was immediately mocked and has provided material from a slew of internet memes with many of them having an American Gothic theme.
Matters didn’t improve at a Wednesday session where good faith negotiations were to have taken place until Nancy quickly dug in and Trump hastily left the meeting. It now appears that the government may be shut down for a considerable amount of time in what looks like a Mexican standoff.
Who will crack first?
The smart money is on Pelosi because the celebs who serve as thought leaders of the party and have swarms of Twitter and other social media followers have more clout on the left than the actual politicians.
One major celebrity has called for Pelosi to just give Trump his “F**king money” and get the government back open again with a strange series of tweets that lack coherence, are stuffed with emoticons and are in ALL CAPS which calls into the star’s mental condition when she sent them out.

It is not known whether she self-deleted or if was pounced on by one of @jack’s censors but having such a major Hollywood icon call for the Dems to run up the white flag is a sign that there may be cracks in the wall of the Resistance itself.
Once again we can see how hate and emotion have allowed Chuck and Nancy to walk way out on a ledge from which there be no escape save for them accepting help from Trump.
