Falsely Accused Student Brings In High Powered Lawyer To Sue The Bastards

When all else fails, just sue the bastards!

The Covington Catholic student who was vilified by the fake news media over a contrived encounter with a Native American activist is going on the offensive against the smear merchants who upended his life and put his family in danger.

Nicholas Sandmann and his family have retained the services of a high-powered attorney with a history of experience in matters of libel and slander by the media and it could be a turning point in the way that misleading stories are spun to fuel the leftist hate mobs that have taken over Twitter.

Following the outrageous reaction to the selectively edited video what went viral on social media and unleashed the mob on Sandmann, his classmates, their families and the school, the story narrative quickly began to deteriorate when a longer video of the teens who were in Washington D.C. for the March For Life surfaced showing that they had been harassed by black supremacists.

The more honest video depictions also showed that Nathan Phillips – who has a history of being a troublemaker – is the one who accosted the students and beat an Indian drum in their faces. The media and celebrities who used the incident to irresponsibly accuse the Covington kids of being racists with their MAGA hats being likened to KKK hoods could now find themselves in court over their actions.

Via Cincinnati ABC affiliate WCPO, “Nicholas Sandmann’s family hires ‘attorney for the damned’ specializing in libel, slander”:

The family of 16-year-old Covington Catholic High School student Nicholas Sandmann, having already contracted Kentucky’s largest public relations firm to help repair his image after a viral incident outside the Lincoln Memorial, on Thursday hired a Georgia attorney known for aggressive libel and slander suits against media organizations.

L. Lin Wood, nicknamed “attorney for the damned” by former CBS anchor Dan Rather, visited the Sandmann family earlier in the day, according to a news release from Sandmann family attorney Todd McMurtry.

“He is committed to bringing justice to 16-year-old Nick Sandmann and his family,” McMurtry wrote.

Wood “often (seeks) eye-popping damages for those he believes have been libeled or slandered in the press,” according to a 2011 Washington Post article about his defense of Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain. (Cain had been facing accusations of sexual harassment that derailed his campaign.)

Other notable clients include the family of JonBenet Ramsey, who were suspects in the child pageant queen’s murder, and Richard Jewell, a Centennial Olympic Park guard misidentified as having bombed his workplace in 1996.

Wood’s firm boasts of an impressive list of credentials on their website including:

  • “lead civil attorney for the late Richard Jewell in all matters arising out of reporting about Mr. Jewell in connection with the 1996 bombing of Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta
  • lead civil attorney in False Claim Act/Whistleblower cases alleging Medicare fraud against DaVita, Inc. in federal court in Atlanta and against Halifax Hospital Medical Center in federal court in Florida
  • lead attorney for John and the late Patsy Ramsey and their son in matters relating to the 1996 murder of JonBenét Ramsey in Boulder, Colorado
  • lead civil attorney for Jeff Greene in libel litigation against The St. Petersburg Times and The Miami Herald related to Mr. Greene’s 2010 campaign for the Democratic Nomination for the U.S. Senate from Florida
  • attorney for Dr. Phil McGraw in connection with false and defamatory articles published by Newsweek, the Daily Beast and the National Enquirer
  • attorney for Herman Cain, 2012 candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States
  • attorney for Sheldon Adelson in defamation litigation in New York and Florida
  • lead attorney for the victim in the Colorado civil case against NBA star Kobe Bryant
  • lead civil attorney for Beth Holloway, mother of Natalee Holloway
  • lead civil attorney for Howard K. Stern, lawyer and companion to the late Anna Nicole Smith in defamation litigation in Texas, Florida and New York
  • lead trial counsel for the Estate of Anna Nicole Smith in federal action for misappropriation and theft of estate property
  • lead counsel for The Estate of Martin Luther King, Jr., Inc. in connection with claims related to corporate governance
  • lead counsel for SunTrust Bank in fiduciary litigation involving Coca Cola heirs
  • lead civil attorney for former U.S. Congressman Gary Condit in defamation litigation against Dominick Dunne, American Media and National Enquirer related to false accusations related to Chandra Levy”

Could it be time that the media is finally held to account for their lies and slander? Just sue the bastards!
