If former SF mayor Willie Brown is to be believed, Kamala Harris got her start in politics by having an extramarital affair with him. According to Brown, he “dated” Harris over 20 years ago and just by coincidence gave her some high-paying committee assaignemenst and helped get her political career off the ground. Harris, who recently announced her 2020 bid for the White House, is already struggling with black voters and if she slept her way into politics, the angry feminists won’t be happy with her either.
Willie Brown was a member of the California state assembly for 30 years and served as mayor of San Francisco from 1996-2004. Today for some unknown reason, he spilled the beans on an affair he had with now-California Senator Kamala Harris in The SF Chronicle:
I’ve been peppered with calls from the national media about my “relationship” with Kamala Harris, particularly since it became obvious that she was going to run for president. Most of them, I have not returned.
Yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago. Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker.
And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco.
More than 20 years ago Brown was married (he is now separated from his wife) which means that if he and Harris dated, it was an extramarital affair. It’s unlikely that Harris was unaware of Brown’s married status at the time. Brown is currently 84-years-old and Harris is 31 years younger at 54.
Brown did appoint Harris to the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and the California Medical Assistance Commission, which paid her $400,000 over 5 years. Brown also helped jump start Harris’ political career according to The Washington Free Beacon:
Brown is credited for connecting Harris with the donors who boosted her successful 2004 campaign for San Francisco district attorney, during which she outraised her incumbent opponent. The Los Angeles Times reported this week that Brown’s “stamp of approval was crucial in raising money from the San Francisco establishment.”
And Harris must have been dynamite in the sack because…
Brown also reportedly gifted Harris with a BMW in 1994.
Sadly, the two reportedly broke up in 1995.
In trying to downplay his contribution to Harris’ plotcial career, Brown also wrote:
I have also helped the careers of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and a host of other politicians.
Yeah, but all those other people didn’t bang Brown for the political help, or did they? If Brown had affairs with Feinstein, Pelosi, and Newsom I’m going to puke.
Brown has long been accused of corruption and has been investigated by the FBI a number of times. Plus there’s this thing from Wikipedia:
Brown is also criticized for favoritism to Ms. Carpeneti, the lobbyist with whom he had a child. In 1998 Brown arranged for Carpeneti to obtain a rent-free office in the city-owned Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Between then and 2003, a period that spans the birth of their daughter, Carpeneti was paid an estimated $2.33 million by nonprofit groups and political committees controlled by then Mayor Brown and his friends.
I don’t think there’s much doubt that Kamala Harris had an affair with the married Willie Brown. This certainly does nothing for that “empowered woman” image she’s trying to project. She basically slept her way to the top and that’s not near;y as impressive as shattering the glass ceiling.
Hillary Clinton struggled with her “girl power” credibility because she’s married to a known sexual predator and cheater. Kamala Harris got where she was by sleeping with a powerful man. There’s really no difference and Harris is going to flounder with women in her doomed-to-fail 2020 presidential run.
