Economic Terrorism: Dems Threaten Starbucks Boycott If Howard Schultz Runs For POTUS

The greatest show on earth is beginning earlier than scheduled as Democrats go bonkers over unexpected political foe…

Liberals are infuriated over the looming third-party presidential bid by former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz and may be prepared to give up their lattes to force him to reconsider.

Schultz’s new book From the Ground Up: A Journey to Reimagine the Promise of America just hit stores and he is on a media tour to support it as well as to promote himself as an alternative to two parties that have a stranglehold on government and hate outsiders.

The very idea that Schultz would run as a third-party has Democrats apoplectic and aghast that someone would dare to interject actual issues into their ugly platform of socialism, identity politics and race-baiting that they feel will mobilize the anti-Trump base for long enough to retake the Senate and White House next November.

Never mind that this is still theoretically a free country, the leftist hate mob is looking to deprive Schultz of his right to run for president and is threatening a national boycott of Starbucks unless he bows to their command.

It is irrelevant to the fanatics that Schultz is no longer CEO or executive chairman of the nation’s largest public restroom chain, it’s just another chance to flex their muscles by engaging in what comes perilously close to economic terrorism.

Following his big interview on CBS’s flagship “60 Minutes” that aired Sunday, Schultz quickly tasted the fury of the left when he was heckled by a hater during an event in New York who shouted “Don’t help elect Trump, you egotistical billionaire asshole” in a sign of things to come.

The boycott idea comes from the influential Neera Tanden who is president of the John Podesta founded think tank The Center For American Progress as well as a longtime Clinton stooge.

Via The Washington Examiner, “Democrats threaten Starbucks boycott until former CEO Howard Schultz abandons 2020”:

Democrats may be on the verge of brewing up a boycott against Starbucks as a way to pressure the company’s former CEO, Howard Schultz, from running as an independent in 2020.

A few Democratic lawmakers have already encouraged Schultz not to run since it could split the anti-Trump vote in 2020 and give Trump another term. Rep. David Cicilline, D-R.I., said over the weekend Schultz’s candidacy would “make it easier for @realDonaldTrump to win.”

Many Democrats are willing to go further by threatening to stop buying the expensive coffees at Starbucks. On Sunday, ThinkProgress editor Ian Millhiser encouraged major candidates to “use their email lists to promote a Starbucks boycott” until Schultz leaves the race.

The reaction underscores the nightmare of the Democrats in that Schultz himself is a billionaire who like Trump before him, can self fund his own campaign and doesn’t need the dirty money from the likes of George Soros and Tom Steyer who have underwritten the radicalization of the party.

He also got a rude reception from the shrieking harpies on ABC’s hatefest “The View” when he dropped by to promote the book and was hectored by bespectacled blowhard Joy Behar.

JOY BEHAR: The main thing, and I said it yesterday, that scares me is that your entry into this race will guarantee Trump another four years, and we cannot have that. You talk about the Democrats not wanting to negotiate, they cannot negotiate with a toddler. If you give him the cookie one day, the next day he wants another cookie. So its not equal on both sides. They had to play tough, the Democrats, with him, otherwise he will run amok. Now your entry into the race pretty much guarantees that a Republican is going to win.

Schultz also didn’t take long to ruffle the feathers of Senator Elizabeth Warren who is seeking the presidency after he mocked her soak the rich tax plan on NPR as:

…a ridiculous plan of taxing wealthy people a surtax of 2 percent because it makes a good headline or sends out a tweet when she knows for a fact that’s not something that’s ever gonna be passed…

This naturally didn’t sit well with the thin-skinned 1/1,024 Native American Twitter warrior who angrily jabbed the following missive into her cellphone:

To top things off, Schultz then lowered the boom on Kamala Harris who has already been all but crowned by the media as the 2020 nominee when he ripped her idea to abolish all private insurance as “not American,” during an interview on CBS.

“That’s not correct. That’s not American,” Schultz said. “What’s next? What industry are we going to abolish next? The coffee industry?”

The 2020 race for the White House was already going to be the greatest freak show in the galaxy but now that the Democrats are in full attack mode against Schultz and may be willing to give up their overpriced Starbucks drinks to do so jut took it to an entirely new level.

This is going to be epic so be sure to order popcorn in bulk.
