Democrat Kristen Gillibrand is running for president in 2020 and we’ve just learned what her major platform will be. It seems the ditzy blonde New York Senator plans to halt our booming economy. This isn’t much of a shock coming from the job-killing high tax/high regulation democrats, but they don’t usually say this part out loud. Generally they frame their disastrous economic policies as “building the middle class” but Gillibrand has never been accused of being all that bright.
In what has to be an ethics violation, Gillibrand campaigned off of Tuesday night’s State of the Union. Check this thing she sent out:
Agree? Chip in $5 so we can put an end to this. https://t.co/nKcdxOJAhY #SOTU pic.twitter.com/4Hkotw8e5S

Edit: Oops, it seems in the time it took me to publish this article, Gillibrand has deleted the tweet. I wonder why. In any case, here’s what it used to show:
As you can see, there is a GIF of President Trump saying something and then a shot of Gillibrand rolling her eyes. There is no sound, but Gillibrand wants you to give her 5 bucks to put an end to whatever it was that Trump was talking about.
There’s a little clue in the GIF that allows us to know what she wants to end. In the corner of the C-SPAN footage she sent out it reads that the Trump remark happened at 9:18pm ET. If we go to the video of the SOTU address at that time, here’s what Trump said:
“The US Economy is growing almost twice as fast today as when I took office. And we are considered far and away the hottest economy anywhere in the world. It’s not even close,” said Trump.
The video then cuts to Bernie Sanders eating his pen with a concerned look on his face.
“Unemployment has reached its lowest rate in over half a century,” Trump said.
As Trump delivered that last line, the camera shows Gillibrand’s eye roll that she tweeted out in GIF form. Now that we have some context to her shameless campaign fundraiser, it’s clear that she wants $5 from you to put an end to our booming economy and low unemployment rate. That makes her a pretty shitty person, but a fairly average democrat.
Because Gillibrand is a major-league dipshit, there is another way to take her fundraising tweet. Maybe she’s saying if we give her money she’ll put an end to her presidential campaign or possibly her political career. Taken that way, $5 seems like a small price to pay to get her to go away. If I thought for a second that’s all it would take, I’d give it to her in a heartbeat.
Then, there’s the possibility that $5 will make her stop feigning outrage over great news about the US economy. I don’t think that’s what she was getting at, but I want to explore all possible meanings to this horrible attempt at campaign fundraising.
Whatever her intent, these are the facts: When President Trump was talking about the US economic boom under his leadership, Gillibrand reacted like he just claimed the Earth is flat. She was majorly put off by this incredible economic news for the US. She then tried to fundraise off of this, which again is probably an ethics violation, and her overall message is that she wants to stop people from gaining employment.
