MSNBC is getting one and so is CNN, but you will not see a democratic debate on Fox News. Tom Perez, head of the Democratic National Committee, has decided that Fox is a little too partisan for his tastes and said he won’t allow the network to host one of the many uninteresting democratic primary debates.
Perez released a statement to The Washington Post:
“I believe that a key pathway to victory is to continue to expand our electorate and reach all voters. That is why I have made it a priority to talk to a broad array of potential media partners, including Fox News,” said Perez.
So far so good but there’s a big “but” coming…
“Recent reporting in the New Yorker on the inappropriate relationship between President Trump, his administration and Fox News has led me to conclude that the network is not in a position to host a fair and neutral debate for our candidates. Therefore, Fox News will not serve as a media partner for the 2020 Democratic primary debates,” Perez said.
Just so we all understand what Perez is actually saying here: it’s his contention that the democrats will expand their electorate and reach more voters by only holding debates on radical left-wing networks. It’s so stupid it’s brilliant. No wait, it’s just stupid.
Fox News Senior Vice President Bill Sammon issued his own statement in response to Perez’s idiotic decision:
“We hope the DNC will reconsider its decision to bar Chris Wallace, Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, all of whom embody the ultimate journalistic integrity and professionalism, from moderating a Democratic presidential debate. They’re the best debate team in the business and they offer candidates an important opportunity to make their case to the largest TV news audience in America, which includes many persuadable voters,” said Sammon.
CNN and MSNBC are both propaganda arms of the DNC and dedicated anti-Trump fake news networks. On top of their highly partisan coverage they are in a constant state of retracting and correcting their false reporting. Perez, democrats, and the liberal media all accuse Fox News of being “state TV” for President Trump, but where’s the evidence? Where are all the retracted and corrected fake news stories on Fox News? The rest of the media has this problem but Fox News certainly doesn’t because they maintain a level of journalistic integrity.
Wallace, Baier, and MacCallum are respected journalists as well. No one is claiming they are partisan hacks. Well no one was until Tom Perez dropped this load of shit. Remember when CNN’s Donna Brazile was busted feeding debate questions in advance to Hillary Clinton?
The real problem is Perez wants his candidates getting softball questions from friendly networks. He doesn’t want actual journalist from Fox New injuring about the socialism infecting the Democratc Party. He doesn’t want anyone bringing up Cory Booker’s admission that he sexually assaulted a drunk girl in high school. He doesn’t want Kamala Harris facing questions about sleeping her way into politics. He certainly doesn’t want someone to ask Kirsten Gillibrand “What is the point of you?” He’d prefer MSNBC questions like “Why are you all so gosh darned awesome?”
The democrats lost in 2016 largely in part because they failed to connect with average Americans and have vowed to change that for 2020. This move to ban Fox News from hosting a debate tells these average Americans that the Democratic Party is still a bunch of coastal elitists who hold them in contempt.
